I had a big glass of wine in the middle of the night last night as too wound up by life to sleep. Not my usual practice. I lay there in the bed in the spare room with no snoring husband and just chilled. It was a simple pleasure I know but God it was bliss. Might deffo again take over the spare room when he snores too much. Won’t make the wine a habit. Anyway I was just wondering if you can beat this. What’s the absolute definition of bliss to you. It could be a simple afternoon nap or it could be a fabulously complex and indulgent treat. All ideas welcome.

Walking on a winter-deserted Norfolk beach in the teeth of an east wind, with some snow blowing in my face, dogs rushing in and out of the sea.

First cup of tea, woken by the blackbirds. :)

Laying in a hot bubble bath listening to Stephen Fry read Sherlock Holmes or P. G Wodehouse on audiobook.

Waking up snug in our little camper van with DP, sound of birdsong and/ or waves gently swooshing..

Waking up on a Saturday or Sunday morning, having a full English breakfast and settling in with 12-15 hours of watching sport ahead of me without interruption. When the stars align and it's a morning of winter sport, a test match, then F1, a major horse race and either a great card of boxing or NFL playoff games, that is heaven.

Are you my husband posting this ? 😂

Gardening in the (not too hot) summer with Test Match Special on the radio, slightly ahead of the TV coverage so I can dash in & see the fall of wickets that Jimmy Anderson has taken. I miss him so much. Those heavenly days will never come again.
