Looking at buying one in the Black Friday sales as there are some big reductions. Been wanting a stand mixer for a while and they seem to get good reviews. If you have one, would you recommend it?

And should I go for a sensible colour which coordinates with everything else in the kitchen, or just pick a colour I love?!

i love mine so much! I have cream and keep it on the side at all times

CatStoleMyChocolate · 29/11/2024 22:42

See, cream would be the sensible choice and match everything - but am really tempted by pink!

Great to hear you love yours!

I love mine but don’t use it enough really. It looks wonderful and is on the side ready to use.It is cream.I also have a few attachments which I hardly use so really look and decide will you use them.

Lamelie · 29/11/2024 22:43

I love mine! Buy whatever colour brings you joy and leave it out all the time.

StiggyZardust · 29/11/2024 22:43

I love mine, I've had it for years! I have a black one.

StSwithinsDay · 29/11/2024 22:44

Love ours. Go for it!

Jellycatspyjamas · 29/11/2024 22:44

I have one that’s 25 years old now, still looks and works like new and I use it a lot. It’ll probably still be here when I’m not. Buy the colour you love cos you’ll have it a long time.

Houseplanter · 29/11/2024 22:47

Love mine. I have a few extra attachments too, all good

Bear in mind if you want matching toaster, kettle etc they are only available in limited colours.

Otherwise pick your favourite colour.

eatreadsleeprepeat · 29/11/2024 22:48

I have pink, matt dusky pink. I love it. Previously had a kenwood but it was heavy and a bit unwieldy. Kitchen Aid is just so much easier so I use it more. I have just bought ice cream bowl and mincer attachments in Black Friday sales. Easy to switch things about.
Go for it!

CatStoleMyChocolate · 29/11/2024 22:52

Oh, this is reassuring - I was initially worried they were a bit style over substance and it’s such a substantial outlay I’ve been putting it off for some time. But I’m under strict instructions to spend the money on something for me so here we go!

That’s the one I’m looking at!

I got a Kenwood Chef because it meant I could get rid of my food processor and my previous electric beaters.

Finlaggan · 29/11/2024 22:55

I have the black one and I love it. We use it all the time. DD loves using it for baking. DS loves making pizza dough in it. It's been a great investment for us.

Chocolaterocketcake · 29/11/2024 22:59

I have a cream one but only because when I bought it that colour was in the sale…I’d have gone for something brighter but the cream was a significant saving.

I use it all the time, only had it 7 years but has withstood quite heavy duty use.

I have it out on side too.

CatStoleMyChocolate · 29/11/2024 23:04

Right, I’ve done it - ordered the pink one! Thank you for encouraging me! The cream
one would have been a bit cheaper but not by a huge amount. (DH nearly started hyperventilating when he saw how much they cost - but this is my money from a big birthday so I’ll just remind him how much he used to spend on a season ticket 😬)

Good on you OP. We have the red one and it stays out on the bench all the time, we use it once a week. It really is fantastic. I'm really happy for you buying a pink one, you're going to love it!

Libertysparkle · 29/11/2024 23:19

I love mine it's red. Get a colour you love. It is also really good too.

SleepingisanArt · 29/11/2024 23:53

Hated it! It was so loud and i didn’t find it mixed that well.! The wire balloon whisk has to be hand washed amongst other things and i felt the build quality wasn't as good as it should be fir the price . I reverted back to my 30 year old Kenwood (also have a newer one and my Mums almost 60 year old one but the 30 year old is my favourite).

skippy67 · 30/11/2024 00:00

Another cream Kitchenaid owner here. I love mine!

Copperoliverbear · 30/11/2024 01:39

Love ours, had cream, now got black as got a new kitchen and new colour scheme.

Blueuggboots · 30/11/2024 04:13

I have a bright blue metallic one. Does it match my kitchen? No. Do I love it? Yes!

NormaNormalPants · 30/11/2024 04:20

We also have a cream one. I adore it! Though it doesn’t get as much use as it should these days!

Tealeavesinthecup · 30/11/2024 07:02

Please point me in the direction of good deals ! I have been thinking of getting one for ages.

Tealeavesinthecup · 30/11/2024 07:07

Don’t you need to buy loads of extra accessories with them though?

hashbrowned · 30/11/2024 07:27

You won't regret OP. I have a pearlised white which is around 10 years old and I use it a few times a week for various things.
