We did Garda when our dc were that age. (Over 20 years ago) it was brilliant, there were mid summer fireworks in I think salo which were brilliant up to Disney standards. The camp sites were brilliant, very child oriented with mini discos early evening.

Piantelle is brilliant, a really well run campsite on the lake, great pool, nice restaurant and cafe, good kid activities and a short walk along the lake front to the nearest village where there are most restaurant options. I’ve been a few times and really like it

I went a couple of times as a single parent. Flew into Milan and signer couple nights there and then got the train. We stayed on the large site next to the lake, walking distance from the train station. Went to Gardaland which the kids loved! Swam in the lake, hired a motorboat, bikes etc. go for it.

hellohellooo · 28/11/2024 15:28

Amazing

Sounds like a piece of heaven

We went to Bella Italia last year. Lovely location. I’m thinking of going back to lake Garda next year but seeing what other campsites there are. We found the Eurocamp set up works really well for us.

Bella Italia was the site. Next to a lovely town with main line train line.

Loz2033 · 28/11/2024 15:34

We went to del garda which was really lovely with young kids. Not too big a site but plenty there especially for that age and walking distance to the lake.

hellohellooo · 28/11/2024 15:36

Is coming up as 300 pounds for one week in May 2025

How could that be correct??

Pootles34 · 28/11/2024 15:40

£400 for Camping Village weekend that we're looking at, in Easter! Do bear in mind the sheets package adds on about £100.

hellohellooo · 28/11/2024 15:41

Ah I see so with the add ons it will get more expensive

Looks really great

Lake Garda is fab. Ds17 said it was the best holiday ever. Great transport, ferries are fun. Fab food and it was cheaper than i expected. The lake is beautiful and so many places to swim. Lovely boardwalks along side.

hellohellooo · 28/11/2024 15:44

Amazing

Love to hear all the positives

Thank you all

The prices for may half term are incredible for the accommodation - but the flights are coming up as £400 per person for us, it's cheaper to fly in august - but then the accommodation is more expensive...

at your children's ages they would probably be happy to not even leave the camp - there is lots on.

If you don't want to hire a car then best to fly into Verona as it's the shortest transfer time - our transfer was 100 euros the last timer we went in August 2023.

We enjoyed altomincino family park - pitched at younger ones - a very good kids pool with no massive slides. not too big either , good kids club

hellohellooo · 28/11/2024 16:22

Ah amazing

Thank you all I had no idea at all
