Very rarely am I near a big Waitrose anything worth buying?

I read on here the chicken is the best out of the supermarkets. I think I’ll do a chicken pasta tonight. I’m on the bus so won’t beable to carry much. Is there anything you would treat yourself with or is it all much of a muchness.

Their almond croissants, cheese from the cheese counter, jars of tiny capers in salt, Pure (own brand) shampoo, and a free cup of coffee

Frozen almond croissants are even better, 18mins on bake in air fryer. Perfect.

Frozen tarte tatin 👌🏼
Fresh custard
Hake with paprika butter ready made
Salmon en croute (better than Charlie Bingham)
Monkfish from the fish counter
Duck strips for stir fry
Whole partridges 2 in a pack
Pheasant breasts
Lamb rogan josh - best supermarket curry
Mini chocolate cupcakes

Ooooooh I can feel an amendment to my Christmas order coming on!

The smoked hummus is amazing! Ditto the beetroot and mint. And I second the brown butter mince pies!

The only two things I specifically buy from Waitrose are their seafood cocktail sandwiches (there is a branch which happens to be near where I work), and lemon-infused olive oil, although I haven't bought that for some time and the last time I looked I couldn't find any so I don't even know if they stock it any more.

Their truffle and Parmesan chicken kievs! So yummy. Expensive tho!

Oooooo these sound amazing!

The bread from their in store bakery is lush! And French butter and cheese - heaven 😋

Hemp oil 'Good Hemp'. It's the only place that sells it nowadays. Delicious in pasta sauces and sooo good for you

I got one of everything but no shortbread in stock☹️ or those cinnamon twirls.

I'm imagining you leaving having snagged a lift in a delivery van, a couple of Lulu Guinness and Sara Miller bags hanging nonchalantly from the door. Hope you have a great feast!

I’m still feeling sickly from the chemo and can’t do food straight from the fridge but those eclairs are begging me. It’s only 8am😀

im on my own at Xmas and I’m tempted just to order from Waitrose instead of M and S anyone had their Turkey joints before?

Sorry to hear about your chemo.

The best Turkey imo is from Cook. You can get a stuffed breast to serve 2. Better than Waitrose or M&S.

They do an excellent dark marmalade with no bits in. I'll have some of that if you're going in please!

EachandEveryone · 04/12/2024 11:13

Here again😀

they don’t do lavender shortbread any more
