Hi Insaniacs, I am very happy now you have cleaned out my corner, I have my I.V. Tanker of Voddy and a crate of chocolate....not to mention Padders!
Very cross with WK for trying to lure him away....so I have locked HJ in the dungeon downstaies and they can talk through the bars....I have posted the key to Sweetsong so she can decide when to let him out

I am digusted that you lot don't remember decimalisation, my pocket money went from 8 old pence to 3 new pence, so I lost out it should have been 4 new pence! huh that's parents for you.

When and where is the party I still have my 70's gear so am ready and waiting!

Agh! Secur is lying on my tube and blocked off my Voddy supply, I am soberring up fast agh! WWB push her over a bit and what are those extra legs doing in here....put them in the corner and we will give them to WK as she is often 'legless'

Lol Bunglie - thanks!! I need some extra appendages, I'm trying to find a job and don't seem to have a leg to stand on!!!

Bunglie · 17/01/2005 14:46

glad it is useful.

What kind of job are you looking for?

Anything nearby that will pay enough to make it worthwhile and not demand I work evenings, nights and weekends - doesn't seem to be very easy to find!!!

Bunglie · 17/01/2005 14:56

Are you qualified at anything, (you don't have to say what!) or can you type, basically do you have any skills (apart from Voddy drinking!) and up to what standard are you educated, ie. O/A level or graduate. Do you have any special skills, and absolut no no's that you would not like, such as working with/without people or do you prefer to be outside or in an office, finally do you drive?
From the Bunglie find-a-job-Service

P.S. You can get rid of the 'Starry' now, unless you are keeping it for Christmas 2005

OP posts:
wobblystarryknicks · 17/01/2005 15:10

Lol, thanks Bunglie!! Am not particularly qualified in anything tbh - did very well on my GCSE's, not quite so well on my A-levels, barely scraped through so they're nothing to boast about. I don't drive, don't have any special skills, unless you count surfing the net and being supermum!!! Don't really have any no no's, apart from I refuse to work in fast food, would rather scavenge through bins.

A bit hopeless isn't it!!!

P.S. Tried to get rid of the starry but have got sort of attached to it now, need an amputation to get it off.

Bunglie · 17/01/2005 15:23

OK You have official Bunglie permission to keep the 'Starry', it makes you special and shine out when the rest of us insaniacs are asleep we know you are watching over us...Ahhhhhh!

With reagard to your job...let me think on this one...does it need to include 'The Surfers' or can you manage without them?
Are you looking for something full-time or part-time, or even to fit in with certain hours like 10am to 3pm ?
Would you rely on public transport or are you close enough to a centre of a town to walk/ride a bike or would you like to work from home. Not much in that dept. in my opinion a lot of work for little money.
Dare I ask if you have checked out the local job centre as a lot of people save money and put the job in the job centre, who then sometimes advertise it in the paper but it means that the employer does not have to pay for the advert, but no garantee of it being advertised hence a lot of jobs in the job centre are not in the local paper. Phew a long way round to say nothing!
Brain Surgeon and Rocket scientists are very sexist in my opinion so avoid them but how do you feel about shop work? B&Q and Wilkinsons have a policy of activly employing the over 50's

Sorry but some firms do go for the more mature 40+ person rather than the school leavers.
I will keep thinking...is work seasonal where you are as it is here, due to tourism?

Sorry awful pun!

OP posts:
wobblystarryknicks · 17/01/2005 15:30

Awwwwww @ starry!!!

Job doesn't need to include surfers, I think I can grit my teeth and manage without them. Am looking mainly for part-time but will do full-time if I have to. Would love to work from home but the chances of that are next to nowt. Would like day-time hours, not all this flexi-shifts in the evening and on Sundays rubbish!! Public transport is not too bad so could rely on that to get to work.

Have looked in the job centre and the local paper and have applied for a couple but they haven't got a lot. There's actually more in the paper than in the job centre - useless people!!! Ok, will not go for brain surgeon jobs due to the equality aspect but shop work would be fine, if I could find some!! The ones that employ 40+'s wouldn't help me much but haven't found many with vacancies, let alone part time.

A bit of work is seasonal like daffodil picking but just not a lot around by the looks of things

wobblystarryknicks · 17/01/2005 15:45

There's a telesales job I'm going for that will be perfect hours, perfect place etc - just need to cross my fingers that I get it!!!

Bunglie · 17/01/2005 15:59

Leave it with Bunglie, WSK, I will have a think...
I know someone who did telesales and managed to stick it for 2 days. They were working on a commission only basis and said that people were so rude to them on the phone. As a result I now just say "no thank you, but thank you for calling" and put the phone down. But they were doing something called 'cold calling'I think it is different if you are making a call to someone as the result of an enquirey. So I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I am sad that you are not going for the Brain Surgeon job but well it is there loss!

I will think about it seriously as we are not that far apart geographically I do not think and so let me know if you get the telesales job...it would be good if you did and enjoy it...

WK is already very accomplished at brain surgery; how else could she have removed half of my one remaining brain cell for her own use?

Bunglie · 17/01/2005 16:22

@ WWB

Do you think a reference from the 'Insaniacs' would help her....we could put down all her redeeming qualities ....

Clunk..clog....wheirrrr...

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 17/01/2005 16:27

WK's redeeming qualities ... mmmm ...

She's got half a brain cell
She's kind to Bunglies
She's a world champion voddy drinker
She knows how to look after a rabbit
She can clean out cages

Mmmm ... not sure a reference from us is going to be of too much use, actually ...

Bunglie · 17/01/2005 16:33

She can look after Surfers.
She has an awful sense of Humour.
VERY good taste in friends.
Mumsnet reknown Socialite.
Excellent conversationalist in a virtual reality.
Can change batteries without making a mess.

That job is almost yours WSK

OP posts:
Bunglie · 17/01/2005 16:35

We forgot the most important.

WSK is not going to leave a puddle on your chair or have wet wobbly Knickers as she has some Tena Lady and she can change them herself now

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 17/01/2005 16:36

And she's really nice ...

WigWamBam · 17/01/2005 16:36

lol @ changin her tena herself now ...

Bunglie · 17/01/2005 16:37

She is...Oh She is!

She played 'Hunt the Bunglie' at the Summer party and slept in a Bunglie bag!

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 17/01/2005 16:38

She did what? What are they euphemisms for, Bunglie? Do I really want to know?

Bunglie · 17/01/2005 16:42

A Bunglie Bag...I leant her a brand new, I will have you know, sleeping bag! I think she may even have slept in one of my tents. As They had 2 tents and 3 Sleeping bags from this Bunglie...but I could not go

I hope Beety does it again and I will def. go this year.

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 17/01/2005 16:44

Ah ...

But what's Hunt the Bunglie?

Bunglie · 17/01/2005 17:03

I shall explain all in about an hour....
Will someone stretch over please and turn on the TV as Padders has just started on Sky One....

OP posts:
MummytoSteven · 17/01/2005 17:25

and don't forget specialist indepth knowledge on the cinematography of Hugh Jackman

not to mention her cocktail making skills

good luck with the telesales job, if that's what you really want.

RTKangaMummy · 17/01/2005 17:52

good luck WSK

You can do it!!!You can do it!!!You can do it!!!You can do it!!!You can do it!!!You can do it!!!

wobblystarryknicks · 17/01/2005 21:07

Awww, thanks you lot !!! The telesales job isn't cold calling, have been there done that and hated it, its mortgages.

wwb - hunt the bunglie was where I had to find Bunglie in a field but it was made fiendishly difficult by the fact that she wasn't actually there. So instead I made potent sangria (i see you still remember mts!! ) and chatted with other lovely mumsnetters instead.

Still 'ing at your references!!!
