Anyone else got washing out?

It's really really windy here, but dry, when I hung the first load out this morning (extra pegs) DH thought I was insane. Load 4 is out and 5 about to join it. It dries so quickly! I've done all of the laundry, plus bedding, towels, tea towels, oven gloves, cat bed and the last load going out is blankets from the sofas and beds.
Neighbour over the back was out getting the dog in when I put a load out earlier and now I can see they've got one out too!

I wish I could've put some out but it's raining here 😕

JumpstartMondays · 24/11/2024 15:17

Nope. Purely because the washing machine is broken (almost 2 weeks!!) and I did all mine yesterday at the launderette.

I really wish I could do the bedding and the towels and hang them out though!!

squashyhat · 24/11/2024 15:17

I did, but my whirlypole has just taken on an ominous lean so it's back in now. Dried well though.

Guavafish1 · 24/11/2024 15:18

Too much rain

Guavafish1 · 24/11/2024 15:18

Too much rain

Makes the washing soft though!

Londongirl8922 · 24/11/2024 15:22

If only it wasn't raining here else I would have ...glad you have managed to get all your washing dry 👏🏻👏🏻

coffeesaveslives · 24/11/2024 15:25

No, it's chucking it down.

CouchSweetPotatoes · 24/11/2024 15:26

Rain has been horizontal here, so no!

Nannyfannybanny · 24/11/2024 15:28

It's in now. Yes, very windy and sunny,SE UK corner. I did the thick stuff towels, tracksuits and the sofa covers (dogs)

HowYouSpellingThat10 · 24/11/2024 15:44

Not anymore as I've just brought it in.

If you have a whirly just make sure you load it evenly.

I've pegged out in worse and yet to loose any.

Sheets etc you do need to consider which way you peg on a straight line.

Reif · 24/11/2024 15:45

It's raining sideways here and the bin keeps blowing over and I do not have that much faith in the pegs, so drying inside!

mum2jakie · 24/11/2024 15:47

Chucking it down here too. The line drying site says tomorrow will be a good drying day here but I'm in the office all day!

Nannyfannybanny · 24/11/2024 15:57

I must admit DH had to come and help me detangle, the sofa covers are big with elastic straps that go round the back and they were all wrapped around the rotary.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 24/11/2024 16:00

We've got a straight line, about 100ft , so it's been brilliant! I love how fresh it all smells

Haven't done sofa cushion covers but might tomorrow if it stays dry, looks like rain overnight but dry tomorrow 🤞

My younger self would be flabbergasted by my excitement over this 😂

Yep got mine out. Good breeze so should dry. Speaking of which I'd better go and get it in.

RedRiverShore5 · 24/11/2024 16:08

It's raining here today but tomorrow looks dry and windy so I shall probably put a load out then

Anonymityisvital · 24/11/2024 16:14

It was sunny but very very windy here earlier. I thought I'd try putting some sheets and a duvet cover plus a little bit of clothing out.
I struggled to even get the sheets on the line it was so windy. Put extra pegs on them - pegs that are specially designed for windy conditions. And after an hour one of the sheets had blown off the line so I had to bring every thing in.
But on the plus side it was drier than when it went out, even after that short time.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 24/11/2024 16:17

I hate nothing more thang having it out and then rehanging inside. Pita.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 24/11/2024 16:19

Nope. -14 and snowing here.

MrsWhites · 24/11/2024 16:20

I’m just impressed you’ve got a 100ft washing line.

I do have washing out, just about to bring it in before it goes dark but my line is only about 20ft so only one load gone out.

NOTcentreparcsandNOTatrifle · 24/11/2024 16:32

Not got the washing out, but have at least 25 sodden towels and blankets in the garden after clearing up the flood water from our house this morning.

All is well now, but I can't face washing them all just at the moment

LinesAndLinesAndLinesAndLines · 24/11/2024 16:35

It's forecast to be windy with little chance of rain over the next day or so so I've tentatively pegged DD's bedding out. I'll probably do ours tomorrow.

WillowTit · 24/11/2024 17:17

excellent drying day here

NOTcentreparcsandNOTatrifle · 25/11/2024 14:59

Well I've just pegged towel number 24 on the line!

Still one more load in the washing machine, a king sized throw in the queue and a pile waiting to be finished off in the tumble drier - but I'm getting there.

SabreIsMyFave · 25/11/2024 15:04

Yep, I have a washing line full of clothes and towels outside. (2 loads.) It's about 60-70% dry too. 9 degrees C here and windspeed of 17mph, and the sun is out. So it's drying fairly well. Smile
