We do a game at Christmas where instead of presents, we do useful gifts in bags for people to win. Things like mango slicers, those cards that double up as ice scrapers, that sort of thing.

Have you bought anything surprisingly useful that you use more than you thought you would that cost under £30 please? I really need some ideas this year!

Rechargeable book light - I don't sleep well and if I'm reading a proper book rather than my kindle it means i can read in the middle of the night without waking DH.

Aldi's milk frother - just as good as the Lavazza one but only £20.

Can you share which one you have?

I have an insulated gravy boat, absolutely brilliant for keeping your roast dinner hot. Around 15 quid on Amazon.

I have one of these , got it years ago so no idea what I paid for it . Excellant if I;m making a decent amount of gravy .

A battery case I bought from QVC , it has compartments (in foam) for your batteries and a charge check device .
Before we kept our batteries in a biscuit tin but this is so much easier

You don't drive a Skoda, do you? I have exactly the same problem with mine. I even bought a complete set of new tyres this year - it's still happening.

Right, back to thread topic...

VW. It’s quite old though now. I’ve been doing the tyre pump thing for a good four years now

An apple corer and slicer. I use mine every day. I know that knives were invented first but I am lazy and if I had to faff around with a clean knife and chopping board every morning then I wouldn't bother.

Mini rice cooker. Very compact and produces two perfect portions every time. My absolute favourite kitchen accessory 👍

Would you mind linking to this? Sounds ideal. Thank
You!

I got one of those thermal cameras, think I paid £20 with a load of rolls of thermal paper and also some that were sticky backed for making stickers. I bloody love it, can't believe how good it is for the price.......I'm currently using it to make festive bunting 🤣🤣🤣 the photos print on a continuous strip so very easy to do.

Another vote for the crimpet, easiest toasted sandwich ever.

Yes, most definitely I can recommend this. I’ve had mine for many years, purchased when only the colour black was available, lots of different colours now. I use it for lighting candles & the gas grill & oven.

Just remembered another. Got this label maker a few months ago and has been a game changer for organisation. My parents also bought one after seeing it in action 😀 You download an app and can type the label, add pictures and things and then they print out onto little stickers that come with it.

An example of what the labels look like:

What do you use the long handled teaspoons for?

DH uses them for his latte coffee mugs.
I use them for stirring gravy/custard in measuring jugs.
We use them to get to bottom of jam jars or large yoghurt pots like Onken.
I have a tallish mug for cupasoup in winter and use one then as I have to constantly stir it.

We use one at least every second day. We bought ours from Wilkos (sob) so I'm sure B&M, The Range or other cheaper shops will have some for a couple of quid. Dunelm etc definitely do but are more expensive.

Panini press , zyllis garlic press (I use mine every day and it's much better than my old standard one), tile mate as I lose my keys constantly, reusable foldup shopping bag ,

I've had my zyliss garlic press for years. It's the best.
