This is not good.

What are you talking about? Link? We've been involved for a while...

"Moscow's ambassador tells Sky News."

Thegraduates · 21/11/2024 15:17

Well yes. Moscow would be the ones to decide who they are in conflict with!

OP posts:
Luckymoo · 21/11/2024 15:17

It’s just sabre rattling, as they’ve done all through the conflict with regards to the uk.

Reallybadidea · 21/11/2024 15:20

But why do you think they have announced it like this? Because they are trying to scare us. Clearly it's working

Thegraduates · 21/11/2024 15:22

Putin is backed into a corner, he will need to save face. I don't think we should have given Ukraine missiles if it puts the U. K at any risk of retaliation.. It is easier to target the UK geographically than the USA, we are a small island on the edge of Europe..

OP posts:
Littlemissgobby · 21/11/2024 15:23

No, we’re not directly involved. We had to ask Americans permission to send them missiles but we’ve already been giving them missiles anyway if anything we’ve been bloody well slow it’s too little too late and Russia is gonna take over Ukraine because Trump’s gonna get in power and he claims he wants peace what he wants is Russia to take over Ukraine and Ukraine to capitulate fuck me if this had been World War II and Trump had been in power then we’d all be speaking fucking German.

Russia will not target the UK or any NATO member. If they did, all the rest of NATO would retaliate, and Putin/the Russian mafia would be toast.
As a pp says, it's sabre-rattling.

Oh no!

Anyway...

Reallybadidea · 21/11/2024 15:24

I don't think the UK government has done this on a whim. There will have been a risk assessment. Nobody in the UK government will want to risk British civilian lives.

MagicFox · 21/11/2024 15:24

It's Russia saying that, not the UK! The use of the weapons is for military defence purposes only in specified areas (to take out Russian military targets.)

Blahdeblah24 · 21/11/2024 15:24

Unfortunately it's completely out of our hands so what's the point in worrying @Thegraduates

We know that lots of countries (us included) have nuclear capability but since the end of WW2 it has never been used, other than as a deterrent (and as a spurious reason for us to invade Iraq)

Don't forget we stand with NATO and they stand with the UK.

What you don’t understand is that Putin was going to take over anyway the people in the Baltics have already got the youth doing March’s et cetera I listened on BBC Radio 4 yesterday and they were saying that in Estonia in the Baltic which is quite close to Ukraine they are preparing in case Putin invades them so do you know if he doesn’t stop at Ukraine? Eventually he will try to target us anyway it’s the bastion of the west

Littlemissgobby · 21/11/2024 15:26

Far too many Russian sympathises in the west right now and quite frankly it’s disgusting because we are defending democracy and freedom That’s the sort of person they’re going to get voted into America now because Donald Trump is too closeto Putin

Luckymoo · 21/11/2024 15:26

He’s not going to attack the uk, as it wouldn’t save face, he knows what the outcome of that would be and it wouldn’t be face saving it would be the end of him. Russia have been talking via state news talking heads etc and what not about ooh bomb the uk since the beginning of the war in Ukraine and it’s just that, talk.

Littlemissgobby · 21/11/2024 15:27

Also the thing about us as well as he’s got North Korea soldiers on the border between Ukraine and Russia so I don’t think they have got the money that you think they have. They are literally spending 40% of their budget on defence that is not doable for a long-term.

Thegraduates · 21/11/2024 15:30

But it's very easy to attack via banking, our water system, cyber attacks, our energy system...

They are already doing that yesterday a ship from the Netherlands had to chase a ship that Russia had that was Chinese and origin that was already doing stuff with cables and don’t forget that actually Putin poison somebody on our land and you know what we did fuck all with that we’ve been too slow to act

Not worried about an invasion.. Warfare has gotten much more sophisticated. I'm worried more about cyber attack, banking, energy & water systems..

They've already been trying all of that, it's been happening since the war started.

Many UK citizens have been involved in the war for a long time. There is also a huge cyber force of civilians involved in hacking from our side too.

We are actually less of a target than Eastern European countries because our defences are stronger. But all ISPs and everyone else involved behind the scenes has been strengthening and mitigating more since 2022, on a continuing basis.

It's not actually very easy to hack things in a substantial way at all. You can cause minor disruptions to things, but honestly companies making their own mistakes do worse every day (just look at the airlines, Microsoft, etc.).

Plus they have to divide their cyber warfare resources between a lot of different locations, they only have a finite amount of manpower.

Water would be a silly thing to target, it's about the only thing we have in abundance.

For the final time they are already doing this. They are already attacking us constantly. You should see what I see on the Internet. There’s a site you can see what they are trying pwrn us

Exactly did u see what that ship did from Netherlands chased this Russian Chinese ship that had been targeting cables other day

Littlemissgobby · 21/11/2024 15:37

For my final ranr, this is why when I see fucking plastic patriots in a disguise of Nigel Farage and his little fucking buddies who are Putin sympathises they claim they are not what they fucking are it pisses me right off and yet these patriots believe they’ve got the right of this country have they fuck?
