PollyMumsnet · 21/11/2024 08:14

Hello bargain lovers,

Black Friday is just over a week away (its official date is the 29th November) and most retailers have already started slashing prices. Today Amazon have launched their Black Friday sale and the deals are coming in thick and fast.

We thought we’d set up this thread so we can share the best savings our expert deal hunters find - and we’d love for you to share your biggest discounts and best buys here too.

Whether you’re ticking off your Christmas list, shopping for home essentials or looking to treat yourself, we’ve got you covered.

MNHQ get early access to Black Friday deals from a whole heap of retailers, and we’ve been busy cross-referencing the best deals with products Mumsnetters recommend most highly - from air fryers to LEGO, and heated throws to vacuum cleaners - so we can bring you the genuinely valuable savings (and leave out the rest). We’ll be updating this thread all week with the latest deals as they happen.

We’re also comparing prices on camelcamelcamel where possible, to ensure the offers are authentic and as good as they seem.

We know not everyone loves Black Friday, but if you’re looking to snap up a bargain during the biggest sale event of the year, you’re in the right place.
If there’s something specific you’re shopping for, post your requests here and our dedicated team of bargain-hunters will be on the case.

💸 Todays’ top Black Friday deals on Mumsnetter-approved products:

Happy shopping,
MNHQ 💐

Note: Mumsnet has some affiliate links, so purchases through our posts may earn us a small share (more details here). Recommended deals might get linked for user convenience. Prices are accurate when posted.

We got a flurry of snow this morning ☃ it's made us feel rather festive, and what could be more festive than Christmas presents under a tenner? Here are the best I've spotted so far:

The much-loved Sienna Blanket Hoodie is a snip at just £10

Boots Hot Water Bottle with Faux Fur Cover, was £14, now £7

LYNX Africa Duo Set, just £4!

A Little Something Mini Face Palette, was £7 now a steal at £3.50

Peacocks have 25% off winter warmers, with kids' PJs from just £6.75 in navy check and heart print

You can get 4 Hot Chocolate Spoons with Marshmallows for £10 - these make excellent stocking fillers or Christmas Eve box treats

This Edinburgh Gin Flavoured Gin Liqueur Gift Pack 3 x 5cl has 37% off at Amazon, making it less than £8

Thank you Polly 🙏🏽 I can’t believe Black Friday is now a week 😅 but better than Jan sales I guess!

💯

Any deals on the light weight hoovers?

Yes! There are some humungous discounts on hoovers right now - you can find more on our dedicated Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals page - here's my pick of the lightweight variety:

There's a whopping 77% off the Beko Cordless Smart PowerClean™ Pro Vacuum Cleaner - was £430, now just £100 (that's the lowest price ever for this model)

The Shark Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is less than half price at £150 (was £320)

Dyson V15 Detect Absolute Pet Cordless Vacuum Cleaner - I have this one and it's so good, was £650, now £500 at Argos

Looking for deals on Nintendo switch

Hi @Imtoooldforallthis thanks for posting Smile
The best deals at the moment seem to be on the bundle options, some of them are the same price if not cheaper than the standalone consoles. Here are a few I've found so far:

Nintendo Switch bundle deals:

Prices for the different standalone consoles:

Advent0range · 21/11/2024 14:34

Ooh - an air fryer big enough for a family of four is what I am looking for!

Ninja air fryers are super popular @Advent0range We really rate these:

Ninja 7.6L Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer and Dehydrator AF300UK (7.6L, enough for 6 portions) - now £119, was £149

Slightly larger capacity Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone Digital Air Fryer, 2 drawers, 9.5L - now £159 (lowest price ever on Amazon according to camelcamelcamel). This is a Mumsnet Best buy!

More budget-friendly: Lakeland Dual Basket Air Fryer, 8L, now £65 (was £100)

11-litre capacity: Tower T17076 Xpress Pro Combo 10-in-1 Digital Air Fryer, now £56, was £140 (61% off!)

You can read more about some of these on our best air fryers round-up, but you won't go wrong with one of these options. Hope this helps!

ClareMumsnet · 21/11/2024 16:21

Hi @Oxo01

We recommended the Russell Hobbs RHCC5001 Refresh and Clean Carpet Washer on our best carpet cleaners page. It's currently on sale for £74 (was £99!)

The BISSELL SpotClean Pro Portable Carpet Cleaner is also rated highly. Not technically a Black Friday deal but looks to be cheaper on Amazon than elsewhere at the moment (£115)

This is a Mumsnet Best buy: Vax Smartwash Pet-Design Carpet Cleaner. It's heavier than the Russell Hobbs, but so good that it's worth a mention - and almost half price for Black Friday!

Hope this helps!

MysticCatLady · 21/11/2024 15:17

Hi, thanks for the thread. I have my eye on the Ring doorbell and can see it is reduced at the moment on an early black Friday sale. Is it likely to reduce any further on Black Friday?

If you plan to shop on Amazon, their main Black Friday sale actually went live today and will be running till Cyber Monday, so I suspect prices will remain the same (or pretty similar at least) throughout the event.

ClareMumsnet · 21/11/2024 16:34

thrifty24 · 21/11/2024 14:32

I'm looking for a good food processor, ideally on the small side

Hi @thrifty24 Here are a few standout food processors on sale at the moment:

Ninja Food Processor with Auto-IQ BN650UK - now £74 (was £100). Cheaper on Amazon than Ninja's own Black Friday sale.

Ninja BN800UK Food Processor & Blender with Auto IQ - slightly different model. Now £149 in John Lewis sale

KitchenAid 2.1L Food Processor Empire Red 5KFP0921BER, now £176 (was £220) at Lakeland

Kenwood MultiPro Express Weigh Food Processor, now £149 (was £215)

Hope this is helpful!

BeccyMumsnet · 21/11/2024 18:00

👋hello everyone! My colleague's passed the baton on to me for the evening ahead...

If there's anything specific you're on the lookout for, do let me know and I'll take a look at what I can find for you. In the meantime, I'll be sharing posts with some of the best deals so far from different retailers.

Please feel free to also share a bargain if you find one for others on the thread 🙏

Ps - on a personal level, does anyone have one of those projectors that you can use to watch your telly on your ceiling while in bed? If so, would you recommend it?

BeccyMumsnet · 21/11/2024 18:08

fussychica · 21/11/2024 16:31

The Revlon Hairdryer from Argos is out of stock everywhere in the south west apparently, don't know about elsewhere.

Yeah, you're right. It's OOS on Argos in most places, even up north (I'm based in Leeds).

THE GOOD NEWS is... It's available on Boots still with the same 50% discount applied! 😁So it was £50, now just £25!

OrlandointheWilderness · 21/11/2024 15:29

I'm so sad. Only thing I've bought in Black Friday and it's bloody dishwasher tablets!!!! 😂

NOT sad at all - you're not alone. Dishwasher tablets are regularly one of the top selling things on Mumsnet for Black Friday 😂myself is included in this. Bargain!

BeccyMumsnet · 21/11/2024 18:20

outnumbered77 · 21/11/2024 14:36

Any PS5 deals to be had?

Hmm sadly no huge savings that I can find to be honest @outnumbered77 - Amazon has £20 off the Playstation 5, so it's now £460 instead of £480. Not exactly bank account saving amounts, though.

However with that said - if you think you could survive disc free play - the digital Playstation 5 is much less and is now £370 compared to it's usual £390.

Again not a huge saving but if you don't mind being disc-less, the digital version is worth a look at IMO.

It's also worth mentioning that Very have a trade-in offer where you could potentially get up to £210 to contribute towards a new PS5. Worth a look if you can be bothered with the faff? 😆

BeccyMumsnet · 21/11/2024 19:47

I've personally had my eye on Edurino figures for my two DC and very happy to see that they're discounted over on Amazon at the mo 🙋

Edurino Mika Starter Set - Phonic Skills, Recognising & Writing Letters Correctly, Identifying Letter Sounds for Kids 4+, was £45, now £34

Edurino Play & Learn Bundle - Phonic Skills, Numbers & Shapes, Early Coding, Creativity, Body Parts - Fun Educational Toy for Kids 4+, was £170, now £127

Edurino Robin - Numbers & Shapes Games, Early Math Skills, Counting, Addition - Educational Toy for Kids 4+ (you'll need to buy a pen separately for this one, though), was £25, now £20

BeccyMumsnet · 21/11/2024 19:48

Oooh great spot! Thanks for sharing it.

I’m looking for a PS5 slim digital console

Hello @iamme21 - our above post to @outnumbered77 should be of interest to you 😄

I would urge anyone looking at Ring to consider Eufy instead. No subscription fees, does the same.

I would like to personally thank you for this recommendation - fed up of our Ring subscription going up and up! So, glad to know that Eufy don't have that. I'll be having a look👀

RachMumsnet · 22/11/2024 09:04

Hi @CrispyTofu

Looks like the Dyson Airwrap is on offer for £400 (£80 off) at Boots and if you use the code DYSONFNDD you can nab free next day delivery.

For a cheaper option, the Shark FlexStyle has dropped in price to £200 (was £270) for Black Friday. Mumsnetters rate its diffuser attachment (which you don't get with the Dyson).

AND, the Bellissima Italia Prodigy Air Styler is a best-seller and gets good reviews - it's on sale at Boots for £180 (£70 off)

Hope that helps!

Hiya @NotPennysBoat

I can't see any discounts on the AirTags as yet. The four-pack seems to be the best-value bundle (£94 vs £20 each) to buy.

If you're in the market for another Apple device, lookout for Apple's Black Friday sale next week as they're offering a free £160 gift card when you buy select products so you could use that to buy a few AirTags.

I use them on holiday with my kids - got these wristbands for them to wear. Great for additional peace of mind when out and about!

Hi @PurpleSkittle

I have it on good authority (from a MNHQ colleague with a gamer at home) that these are worth a look!

Razer is a good brand, and this looks like a good deal on a wired headset: Razer Kraken V3 - Wired USB Gaming Headset (55% off)

This controller has good reviews and is a bargain price: PDP Wired Controller Ion White for Xbox Series X|S (28% off)

This is a bit more expensive from Razer but it's 50% off: Razer Wolverine V2 - Wired Gaming Controller

Hope that helps!

Hi @atomicnotsoblonde

The Bosch SMV6ZCX10G dishwasher is a great buy if it fits your space? It's down to its lowest price ever (£729 from £820) and is the #1 pick in our guide to the best integrated dishwashers.

A couple of cheaper options:

Hotpoint Maxi Space Integrated Dishwasher (£100+ off, now £368) from Appliances Direct

Hisense HV523E15UK Fully Integrated Slimline Dishwasher (£144 off, now £275) from AO

On the washer dryer front, these both feature in our guide to the best integrated washer dryers and are currently on sale for Black Friday:

Hi @p2312

@TigerRag flagged that there's a Black Friday sale on at Dreams 👀

Looks like there are some good bundle deals on offer (up to 40% off) for a bed frame + mattress with lots of king-size beds included. Cheapest I can see is £928 for the Sleepyhead Bundle (was £1478).

Dunelm is promoting 30% off Silentnight mattresses at the mo. And the John Lewis Black Friday sale on homeware is already live with 20% off bedroom furniture.
