My daughter has long, extremely thick hair. Please recommend your best buys on budget shampoo and conditioner that work but don’t break the bank.

I have really long thick hair and I like Elvive Dream Lengths, especially the conditioner as it’s amazing at detangling my hair and doesn’t weigh it down. Always on offer somewhere too.

Bar shampoo- just use in on the scalp.
Then any conditioner for the lengths- Tesco apple 🍎 s good

Doggymummar · 17/11/2024 18:42

Mines boob length and I use whatever is cheap at the supermarket, they are all pretty much the same. As it's blonde I'm using neutrogena purple shampoo and conditioner currently. £2,25 easy at tesco

I love the Faith in Nature range

TheTecknician · 17/11/2024 21:16

I don't have long hair but it does get dense and bushy after a few weeks post trim. I consider it a blessing at my age. I use Tresemme shampoo, no conditioner. One bottle lasts about half a year.

Tescos coconut shampoo and conditioner

NannyGythaOgg · 17/11/2024 21:31

Aldi Lacura. I use the curly hair one but the shine one is very well reviewed. £1.09 per bottle, shampoo and conditioner

Welcometotheocbitch · 17/11/2024 21:33

We’ve been using the Aldi Lacura oil one, in the brown bottle, finding it good enough!

LadyofRutshire · 17/11/2024 21:39

Alberto balsam is amazing. Leaves my hair tangle free, shiny and smooth. Think it's 99p a bottle.

OliviaRodrighost · 17/11/2024 21:40

I love the Garnier hair food range.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 17/11/2024 21:48

I always think tresemme is good value, massive bottle for £3 ish which lasts ages.

I love the Faith in Nature range

Really not cheap though...

ExceededUsefulEconomicLife · 17/11/2024 21:54

I mostly use tresemme. The blue (moisture?) or purple one (repair?) and find them really good. I am currently using OGX purple one which is biotin and keratin (I think. There's a red one that I also used which may be b&k) as it was on offer - £4 a tub which is still expensive.

GonnaBeYoniThisChristmas · 17/11/2024 22:04

Tresemme is good and often big bottles. All the Tesco fruit conditioners are lovely.

worcesterpear · 17/11/2024 22:08

I like Aussie miracle moist conditioner. Lots of different shampoos work, sometimes it's best to alternate, but Herbal Essences lime seems to work for most hair types, also Superdrug coconut water.

WellyBellyBoo · 17/11/2024 22:08

Another vote for Tesco coconut.

Spagettifunctional · 17/11/2024 22:10

I agree about the shampoo bars - really cheap in Poundland

CandyCane5 · 17/11/2024 23:12

I use a range called Kallos from Notion.com
The vanilla one is great. Works out to about £4 for 1L bottles each. Have to pay delivery which is around £3.99 but for the size totally worth it.
I've tried all sorts on my hair and go through a lot due to having long hair. I find vanilla Kallos is even better than my £40 bottle of Redken.

CandyCane5 · 17/11/2024 23:12

Notino.com *

Sakura7 · 17/11/2024 23:14

Garnier Honey Treasures and Elvive Dream Lengths are both good.

noobiedoobie · 18/11/2024 03:16

Is it frizzy?

Loreal elvive orange one, is it Dream Lengths. Great for detangling.

Herbal Essences which ever is detangle one.

Generally the shampoo matter less than the conditioner. The shampoo is just to lift the grease. I like Faith in Nature as its natural .

noobiedoobie · 18/11/2024 03:17

Tresemme also good. Salon quality and good value.

noobiedoobie · 18/11/2024 03:18

I buy when they have offers on.

noobiedoobie · 18/11/2024 03:19

I'm thinking of going back to try a bar Shampoo as well - they last quite a while.

noobiedoobie · 18/11/2024 03:20

Garnier Banana Hair food is nice too.
