Le Creuset

A few pieces caught my eye in JL today, butter dish, tea bag storage, sugar bowl. For having on the kitchen side for everyday use. Can’t decide if to mix and match a couple of colours or stick with one. Any other le creuset fans out there, what did you do? I don’t think I’ll ever progress to the cooking pans. The mugs and espresso cups look cute though. Even the spoon rest..

I have stuck to one colour. I have one Le Creuset and one Lidl knock-off.

The Le Creuset is better as the inside is perishing on the knock-off.

However it was about 1/10th the price and I can't face buying a new one.

WolfFoxHare · 15/11/2024 19:55

We got all different blues and greens for our cook wear and storage jars etc, but rainbow crockery.

NerdWhoEatsMedlar · 15/11/2024 19:56

I have 13 le creuset pans in a mix of red and orange.
I don't think I will ever progress to butter dishes and tea bag storage.

You do you, and other will suit themselves.

How many saucepan cupboards do you have?

KerryBlues · 15/11/2024 20:03

Mine are mix and match, op, but that's purely because I buy them in TK Maxx and have to choose from a limited range 😁. Otherwise I think I'd go matching.

StormingNorman · 15/11/2024 20:04

I have a mix of white Le Creuset and navy blue Staub.

PawPrintsInMyPansies · 15/11/2024 20:11

I mix n match from whatever I find on offer. I have bought some Le Creuset Taster things from their website, which I love

FavouriteTshirt · 15/11/2024 20:14

I mix and match... TK Maxx, some JL, some wedding presents, some skip diving!!

And we have TWO butter dishes!! One to wash abs one to use. Really thought I'd arrived in life at that point!!

BottomlessBrunch · 15/11/2024 20:15

I only have all volcanic. I think it could work mismatched such as mix of pastels or 2 contrasting colours but for me I like having the same.

GuffyTheDustBuster · 15/11/2024 20:16

We deliberately mixed the bright colours (acquired through various routes) Didn't like the butter dish in action though. The base is too shallow and the butter slides off #firstworldproblems

AlhambraQueen · 15/11/2024 20:28

I have the mugs in mint and expresso cups in navy. Never chip unlike the denby mugs. Love them

One corner cupboard, it is a mess, I think there may be a pasta machine at the back. Then I have two racks
I really like using cast iron pans, some people hate them because they are far too heavy. Hence I have been gifted some. Give it 10 years or so and I'll have passed the pans on to the DC and be raving about stainless steel.

Other people love the pans they have and like the look of le creuset accessories. That's just fine. I think the accessories are a tad expensive, others will feel my essentials are excessive.

Mine are a mixture of colours as I pick them up in sale's, Though mainly have cerise and orange, I haven't a butter dish but I do have a salt pig and oil and vinegar bottles.

ranoutofusername · 15/11/2024 20:43

We have crockery in different colours (out of choice), a few cups and bakeware. Would have more if I could.

Laiste · 15/11/2024 20:45

Just cream.

It's SO bloody heavy though!

I love this kind of feedback, useful and practical, I'm taking the butter dish off my list. Cheers!

I’ve got this Yorkshire Tea tin too. Does your hinge still work (mine does not)

didn’t think I’d ever progress to pans because (1) I’m not made of money and (2) not sure my kitchen pan drawers will hold up to them

I have three cast iron casseroles, they are super. Not the pans, they are too unwieldy for my feeble hands. (yet I can lift the 32 cm oval casserole from hob to oven no problem)

I also have an Aldi knock off small cast iron casserole (18 cm?), it's a decent enough piece of kitchen equipment.

Mine are red. Sorry, cerise.

SallyForf · 15/11/2024 21:11

Oh and I have little ceramic pots, with lids, in pastel colours, super cute for dips and mini portions for the grandkids. ('Glamour minis')

Ezzee · 15/11/2024 21:42

My Mum had the full set - fans, casserole, stock about 10 pans in orange that she bought in the late 70's early 80's, they are now in one of my cupboards.
I have the dinner plate, sides, bowls etc in all different colours.
I love the mugs so I have all of the colours.

TheBeesKnee · 15/11/2024 21:47

My friend has different colours for different themes of things. So casseroles etc are one cookie, storage containers another, dispensers another colour... But I think they're all pastel so it works together.

wishuponamoon21 · 15/11/2024 21:50

We have most in merigne but mugs and other little bits we have odd colours that we like- but all the main stuff is either merigne and a couple of bits in flint.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 15/11/2024 21:50

I love the look but not the practicality. It's really bloody heavy.
