I am currently buying this, which is nice. What do you have in your bathrooms or sinks? (I have one by the kitchen sink as well)

Pure Liquid Soap of Marseille - Verbena Lemon – EcoBeauty

I love this but it's expensive so I don't buy it although I did buy some once from a hotel we stayed at that had it in the bathroom

100 Acres | Luxury Natural Botanical Hand Wash Liquid Soap

When we were trying to sell our house I had this in every bathroom which is ridiculously expensive and so when it ran out I didn't replace it

Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash | Aesop UK

You? I am aware that this is a very trivial subject but it's Friday afternoon and I've had enough of work!

The secret is a terrazzo soap dish, not a glazed one. The soap does not get soggy

Whatever refill pack is cheapest in Tesco for the kitchen. Often it is Bayliss and Harding, but we’re not loyal to anything in particular. For the bathroom I like Pears soap cause the smell is nostalgic.

The Bath House's Patchouli and Black Pepper handwash is lovely (if expensive)

2 bars of the original Pears soap, one by the basin and one in the shower.

I don't like liquid soaps. They feel too slimy.

I used to love the almond and coconut boots handwash but they’ve changed the formula to one that smells horrible and gets used much quicker (I assume they’ve made the pump pump more out at once.) I have a lot of feelings about it as I have ocd and it was the only liquid handwash I’ve ever used that didn’t leave my hands cracked and sore! So if anyone has any suggestions for cheapish non-drying hand soap I’m all ears

NotMeekNotObedient · 16/11/2024 14:19

Arran Aromatics - I like Glen Iorsa and Glen Rosa. They have lovely matching hand cream. You can buy as a pump but I think the bars are better. I get sore hands and this doesn't irritate.

Dove isn't soap,it's a cleansing bar.. how do you keep bar soap from going mushy, it doesn't go mushy. It's not a fancy soap dish it's a glass fish I fell in love with. DH likes a bar, specific because he has very dry skin. I like liquid, there's a matching hand lotion sitting there,my taps and that don't need hands, knocked with elbow old skool, nursy scrub.

lawlessland · 16/11/2024 15:12

I always buy the same Bayliss and Harding refill bags.
I've got sensitive skin so don't use anything very perfumed.

I'd love interesting and scented products but we're both too delicate. 😄

Unique-personalised-gifts it was £3.55 a bar last Xmas. This is on eBay the handmade rose soap. It looks lovely too white with red/pink swirls in.

I've just discovered that Lidl do a liquid soap that smells just like L'Occitane Verbena.

Orange soap bar from the Carrefour in France

So for those who use bar soap how do you keep it from going mushy? Soap dish with holes?
I usually keep mine on a clean folded flannel. Have tried using crocheted cotton soap mats but they get too soggy.

I put a facial sponge in my soap dish and rest my bar soap on that. It stops the soap going mushy and also 'loads' the sponge with soap, so every now and again, I use the sponge to wash my hands rather than the bar - it has a gentle exfoliating affect on the back of my hands.
As far as soap is concerned, we have white carex by the kitchen sink ( bought in huge containers from Costco and refilled). In the bathroom have white carex, a Palmolive fresh anti bacterial liquid soap, an SBC liquid soap (currently propolis and something) and a nesti Dante bar which is actually half a bar as they are so big. It's geranium and something else. I like to have a choice of soap!

I love Bath & Body Works foaming soaps when I can get them. But usually whatever is nice in TK Maxx. My favourites being these two….

At the moment we have Lidl pomegranate handwash (lovely), a bar of some fancy dead sea scrub stuff (which is a rather off-putting shade of brown), and some olive soap for when DH washes his face (as other types make him sneeze).

Amazing-do you work for them?!

Not really anything to do with hand soap though, is it?
