I am currently buying this, which is nice. What do you have in your bathrooms or sinks? (I have one by the kitchen sink as well)

Pure Liquid Soap of Marseille - Verbena Lemon – EcoBeauty

I love this but it's expensive so I don't buy it although I did buy some once from a hotel we stayed at that had it in the bathroom

100 Acres | Luxury Natural Botanical Hand Wash Liquid Soap

When we were trying to sell our house I had this in every bathroom which is ridiculously expensive and so when it ran out I didn't replace it

Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash | Aesop UK

You? I am aware that this is a very trivial subject but it's Friday afternoon and I've had enough of work!

Another one for Dove bar soap for hands and shower.
Switch to Palmovile or Dove body wash at the gym.

Justleaveitblankthen · 15/11/2024 23:26

Palmolive 😁

Sgtmajormummy · 15/11/2024 23:40

I have dallied with l’Occitane (almond bar soap is inebriating) and Nesti Dante (chopped into manageable size with a bread knife) but I just can’t justify the price.
Currently we have light green Dove cucumber liquid soap in a glass dispenser. It matches the bathroom so I feel a bit posh.
The second bathroom has cheap liquid soap in a fancy dispenser.
Palmolive or Cien in the shower.

DS had Aldi Black Pepper liquid soap last time I visited. Nice “masculine” packaging and smell.

I have a bar of coal tar soap and some liquid imperial leather in the bathroom, and whatever gets picked up in the shopping in the kitchen. I have got some Molton Brown but I don’t think it works up much of a lather.

troppibambini6 · 16/11/2024 08:18

I've just bought the aldi knock off of l'occitane it's surprisingly nice.

troppibambini6 · 16/11/2024 08:18

Lidl sorry not aldi!

DiscoBeat · 16/11/2024 08:23

TK Maxx - preferable anything with almond or coconut in it. Always bar soap for bathrooms and showers.

LindorDoubleChoc · 16/11/2024 08:33

I use bar soap in the shower but for the bathroom sink handwash I buy Dove because you can get a pouch refill rather than a new pump dispenser every time. Our current bottle has probably lasted over two years. Plus I like the smell and it doesn't dry my hands out. I don't give a thought to the aesthetics of my toiletries though.

ItsAllAboutTheBass7 · 16/11/2024 09:11

I have Neals Yard in our bathroom. It's expensive but always feels like a little bit of luxury when I wash my hands!

roobyred · 16/11/2024 09:12

I got 5L of Au lait (Scottish fine soaps) on OnBuy for £25 and now refill my empty Aesop containers. I've found OnBuy to be brilliant for bargains.

winterdarkness · 16/11/2024 09:13

Whatever I find in tkmaxx at a reasonable price. So I go for nice but not ridiculously expensive

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 16/11/2024 09:15

The small loccitane bars in the bathroom (I often get a QVC deal in January for 10/12 bars that last the year!) not too big and don't go mushy in the soap dish and because I've bought in bulk it's a selection of fragrances. In the kitchen liquid soap usually m&S white tea and rose or method if on offer

Nannyfannybanny · 16/11/2024 09:20

DH likes bar soap for hands and shower. I usually get Avon or baylis and Harding and it is decanted into china pump, for basin.

Wherethewildthingsfart · 16/11/2024 09:22

Ortiga Palmero in the bathroom and kitchen.

Baxdream · 16/11/2024 09:24

Bayliss and Harding Oud liquid soap. I have it in all bathrooms and the kitchen and then buy the refillable bags from TK Maxx.

This from a little gift shop in Haworth because I love rose scent and it looks old fashioned which I like 🙂

One eBay there is a handmade soap that smells of roses. It's lovely.

What is the name of this soap please?

coffeesaveslives · 16/11/2024 10:01

Imperial Leather - the cherry blossom one.

Roger et Gallet Bois d’Orange

Good soap, but I’m probably buying it chiefly for the art deco box

Bois d'Orange is one of my favourite smells, I don't know why I've never thought of buying the soap version.

For handwashing in all the loos and the kitchen and utility room we just use Palmolive liquid soap from the supermarket, it doesn't give me dermatitis which some brands do. In the shower we all use our own, DH and DS use shower gel, DD uses a soap that I picked up in TK Max that I can't remember the brand name but smells of white musk. I am currently using Avoca No 4 Tea Rose. It's my last bar, they have discontinued it and I don't like any of their new range so I'm trying to appreciate the time I have left. I have bought some Essencias de Portugal, Le Petit Olivier and Nesti Dante to see if I can find a new favourite.

Bar soap from Grumm as im trying to go plastic free in the bathroom not massive bars so they dont go on forever

I always have bar soap too for the same reason. Currently on Pears, love it!

woffley · 16/11/2024 10:28

So for those who use bar soap how do you keep it from going mushy? Soap dish with holes?
I usually keep mine on a clean folded flannel. Have tried using crocheted cotton soap mats but they get too soggy.

TiramisuThief · 16/11/2024 10:42

I have a soap dish with ridges so it drains & give it a rinse under the tap once a week or so

I've got the type that drains freely and allows air to get to it
