Someone I know copies everything I do and tries to pass it off as her own work. I can’t cut them out, I’m stuck with them blah blah blah.

finally after years of this, my friend said to start having some fun with it and share the worst Christmas cake recipe I can find. But I can’t find one sufficiently bad 🤣

Help me.

I tried a recipe substituting oatmeal for flour (lower carb?). I didn't have any oatmeal so stuck some out of date instant porridge with syrup in from the back of the cupboard, grated apple, grated carrot and some prunes. It was 3 eggs but I only had two tiny ones.
I did think about putting some cocoa powder in to make it look more like a Christmas cake but decided against that.
Anyway, it was shit. It was also flat. Like you'd chopped some cardboard into a flapjack and soaked it in the washing up water.
I went out and bought a pack of chocolate mini rolls instead.

Oh god this is hilarious! 😂mini rolls solve everything though… especially this 😁

You should try my trifle

Layer of ladyfingers
Jelly
Custard
Beef sautéed with peas and onions
Whipped cream
Banana

Et voila!

Bloody hell… no sprinkles?! Heathen! Grin

My SIL and I are obsessed with sending each other pictures of awful recipes we find. This is the most recent one I set her. Some of the ones on the right sound "interesting" too but nothing can beat sausage cake.

Can you please post a full photo of 'false frommage'?! I need to know what on earth that is!

Sometimesnot · 13/11/2024 20:49

chinese 5 spice instead of all spice of an Asian twist on Christmas cake? Someone I know accidentally did this and it was indeed disgusting.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 13/11/2024 20:53

Those utterly fucking diet lemonade alleged scone things that DM thought were so clever and, yes, so TRENDY 🙄

I already have noticeable cellulite, I don't want to eat something that looks like it, too 🤮

Tarkan · 13/11/2024 21:07

@RadioBaBa - I got the picture online so this is the best I could do from the original photo I had. Not too much is missing on the edge though.

It also mentions the mini Bundt pan that's in the sausage cake recipe and I'm assuming you melt the marshmallows IN the orange juice? Then whip the cream and fold them together. And set overnight. 🤢

A gluten free chocolate quinoa cake that had uncooked quinoa pulverised in a blender to replace the flour. Tasted like, and had the texture of, sand

I would try that for science. It sounds like orange flavoured marshmallows.

There's a famous Reddit thread of an Americans interpretation of a roast dinner with Yorkshire puddings. It is a sight to behold.

Edit: found it. Clock the Imgur link in the post and read the comments

That is so funny. I checked the ballymaloe cookery book and can’t find the ‘lavender cake’ recipe in it, but I might ask her for the actual recipe, just to outdo the ‘sausage cake’ here.

Just watched the start of a random video on youtube called Making the Strangest Cake I ever heard of. I haven't watched much of it . I turned off at the mention of mayonnaise cake. Might be worth watching.

This is infamous in my family as being the worst cake ever. 10 eggs?? I think we did 6 before realising it was a huge mistake.

725g of sugar to 350g of flour 😲

BaronessBomburst · 16/11/2024 11:06

It's a meringue with flour. 😂
