Your view from your sitting room!

What can you see when you are sat in your sitting room/lounge/living room (whatever you call it)
All I can see is trees, beautiful autumn colours and sometimes the sky goes that lovely pink colour when the sun comes up.
We have only lived here a short while and I love it (we do live on a main road but I can't see that from where I sit). All I could see from my other house were other people's houses and I didn't realise at the time how much it bothered me, we lived there for a long time and I can't believe I didn't realise it was part of the reason I wasn't happy!
What can you see and do you like it or does it bother you?

From the front window I see a primary school/car park which is directly over the road and the back window is my garden...so fencing, trees, washing line and shed..and the houses over the back

LegArmpits · 02/11/2024 12:50

From where I'm sat now, I can see the sea, Flat Holm and the masts of a tall ship between the rooftops. If I stand up I can see a fairground, a train track, a dock and lots of our town. ♥️

Window box, holly and fir trees. Beyond that (obscured by said trees) is a very very busy road.

nomorehocuspocus · 02/11/2024 12:56

Look right and I can see through the front window at the houses opposite, and through a gap at the end of the row, open countryside, fields and trees.

Look left and I can see through our patio door into the back garden, which is currently a riot of autumn colour. I saw a huge flock of long-tailed tits out there the other day.

TheBlackSheepbaaaa · 02/11/2024 13:22

From where I'm sitting now I can see the houses across the street, the roof of a large train shed in the station yard ( I live opposite a busy steam railway ) and beyond that trees whose leaves are starting to turn brown.

Next doors car <sobs>. I really need to move!

Shunup · 02/11/2024 13:27

My garden. Bordered by conifers, holly, Mexican orange blossom trees. Bird table in perfect view. At night sometimes we keep the curtains open and lights off and watch the foxes and hedgehogs.

JustAnotherHappyFatty · 02/11/2024 13:29

Now the trees are dying back I can also see the little river if I look out of my bedroom window.
It really is wonderful here😊

The sea and the Isle of Arran. Wouldn't be anywhere else.

GroovyChick87 · 02/11/2024 13:30

A row of terraced houses opposite me and a few local businesses on the corner of the main road.

Barrenfieldoffucks · 02/11/2024 13:31

Front is a quiet lane, allotments on other side of hedge. From upstairs you can see that the land drops away from here and there is a forest etc, can see for miles.

Back is just our garden, then fields.

Oh, and red squirrels a plenty!

henlake7 · 02/11/2024 13:36

Sweet FA!😃

My house opens directly onto the pavement and I have barky dogs so the windows are covered in opaque film to avoid the noise.
(shame really....there is a park across the street from me).

Dweetfidilove · 02/11/2024 13:37

From my living room (first floor flat) I can see trees, birds and squirrels (fewer now). If I walk over to the window, I can catch a glimpse of one of the next road's gardens through the trees.

If I look to my right down the little hallway I see more trees, but if I walk to the kitchen window that side and look down, it's a carpark 😔.

Rainbow321 · 02/11/2024 13:42

Looking out the front window , lots of trees with some now bare and others still holding into their autumn leaves . Two cars in the driveway and a bin !

Bundtbake · 02/11/2024 13:49

My view from where I sit is down a long road, all I can see is my garden and all the gardens down the road, it's very relaxing.

At the back of my house is a primary school, so when I'm in the kitchen, at playtimes I can hear the roar of excited little voices sreaming out of the school and playing, it's lovely.

allhailtheeyeballsinthesky · 02/11/2024 15:01

Im in rural Scotland so large hill with trees on top at the front, and river then large hill with trees on the top at the back, I do live in a very small town, but you cant see it from my house,

BeachHutsAndDeckchairs · 02/11/2024 15:16

When I look out of the front room window, I see a massive, untrimmed bush.

LisaJohnsonsFacebookMole · 02/11/2024 15:26

Hills. I live at the bottom of them.

Nothingeverything · 02/11/2024 15:27

I live in Italy so I have a room with a view - rolling green Tuscan hills punctuated with the odd Cypress tree and stone farmhouse or castle..naah...just joking. I overlook my neighbours' block of flats and the communal bins.

Eminybob · 02/11/2024 15:42

Front - front garden which is beautifully overgrown with bushes and trees. In the main still green with a few red and orange leaves. The houses over the road in the background.

Back - back garden. Annoyingly overgrown and ugly. Back wall which desperately needs a repaint

holiverterwist · 02/11/2024 15:48

From the living room it's the patio and the garden. We're lucky in that we are completely shielded from prying eyes by a big hedge. From the front of the house looking out to the road there is only one room with a window and it's my study. The view there is driveway, bit of road then hedge and the multiple bins (last count 5!). If we had a periscope we could see the sea, but as we don't it's just the noise of sea birds and the dredger at night dredging the navigational channel.

Samesame47 · 02/11/2024 15:53

The view from my living room is my small stable yard, my horses are free roaming and often come onto the yard for a nap or a drink and I will never tire of being able to watch them living their best lives. I have the same view from my bedroom window, every morning when I draw the curtains I am met with beautiful faces staring up at the window, as soon as the curtains draw they know it’s almost breakfast time and the whickering starts. My lifelong dream came true when i moved here

endofthecorridoor · 02/11/2024 16:00

We r one one side of a valley so I can see the garden trees the river camel the other side of the valley and my friends houses and the Tesco bridge

Ameliasvocalfry · 02/11/2024 16:02

Some very lucky people on this thread, it's lovely.

From my living room window I used to see and hear cows in a field, but now it's houses, houses and cars (and Amazon vans) as far as the eye can seeSad
