Any one else with a favourite song from the nineties that no one else remembers?

Mine is Operaa House by Malcolm McLaren. I spent many a happy hour being driven through New Zealand as a kid torturing my parents by singing along to this and Aria on Air but no one I’ve meet seems to know of it. Still absolutely adore it as an adult but sadly no better at singing it.

Bucketheads The Bomb

Loved that!

Also around the same time was Push the feeling on by the Nightcrawlers.

Crucified - Army of Lovers.
Satellite - The Beloved
Waterfall - Atlantic Ocean
Falling (PM Dawn remix) - Cathy Dennis
Feel - House of Love

Adore The Beloved, still listen to them all the time too. Sweet Harmony and Scarlet Beautiful are so uplifting if I’m in a low mood.

On a different note subject but related Chris Issac wicked game I bloody love that song how come he never seem to do more like his voice shouldn’t have been a one hit wonder but I don’t recall any other stuff by him being played in the radio do you guys?

ThisMustBeMyDream · 01/11/2024 23:17

So many amazing songs on here!

My contribution is (a band I adored) The Dum Dums - Everything. Although it was 2000... I've just spent the last week reminiscing and enjoying their album (and the b-sides!). Hope some others remember them!

Me three! In fact, I nominated this as a One Hit Wonder on OJ Borg's radio show years ago saying exactly that!

RichardOsmansFreakishlyBigHand · 01/11/2024 23:21

Someone will mention tina arena - chains, and that was a bit pants!

I remember him singing You Owe Me Some Kind of Love but I think that was from the 80’s, I’d kind of filed him away as a one hit wonder now you mention it.

Very bizarre though as his voice was lush

I’ve just had a flashback to “I Wanna Be A Hippy” by Technohead being played on repeat in my GCSE Art class 😵‍💫

Omg thought I would play what you put and now I remember this song it was a good song I feel this was on a soundtrack of a teenage romance type film to

LOL that was on an old TOTP on bbc 4 the other week and they had to nit sing the marijuana bit! The 90s was funny for really explicit songs referencing drugs and sex!

starrypineapple · 01/11/2024 23:26

the time frequency - ultimate high

morcheeba- rome wasn't built in a day

actually that doesn't qualify as it was 2000 but still a highly underrated and under appreciated tune

Wantmyoldlifeback · 01/11/2024 23:26

@Noisylass I think it was in Reality bites with winona ryder

pinotgrigeeeeo · 01/11/2024 23:27

This must have been widely known, but oddly never hear it these days.

Fabulous song

RichardOsmansFreakishlyBigHand · 01/11/2024 23:27

Sneaker Pimps - 6 Underground.

My gawd the 90s were achingly cool. Wish we could all go back...
