I've just finished my first cuppa of the day & have put the kettle on for a second one. No chance of peace this morning though 🙄. Dd1's up and getting sorted for work, dd2's up because she got up to watch someone's stream of Adele from Vegas, and the kittens are causing absolute chaos - they've managed to pull down part of the clothes airer & make a huge racket doing it 🙈🤣

I was planning to start reading the intro to Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles but maybe not this morning. I'll pop an earphone in instead, while I start my pre-Christmas big clean & organise in the kitchen, and listen on Spotify.

Dd1's off to work for 10:30 until this evening, and I think dd2's just ready for a day off. I asked yesterday if she fancied doing anything & she said only if I did 🤷‍♀️

Later on I'll carry on my crochet pug dog & maybe some more of my book in front of Gilmore Girls.

Just absolutely dying for some peace and quiet. It’s just one event/task to the next, all the time.

Obviously am currently on the sofa MNing but I don’t get to sit down for more than 5-10 mins without someone coming and sitting on me, asking me for something, needing something etc.

SO we will try and get the kids out into the woods as that will make me feel better, then when DD (and DH) nap I’m taking the older 2 to the cinema. Then will start packing as the older 2 are off to grandma’s for half term on Monday!!! 🥳 peace incoming! (Although DD is the hardest one and she’s staying here!).

Strictly tonight and maybe even a Chinese even though we need to watch the pennies!

Also need to do some work. And want to do some crochet too as want to make DD a crochet alphabet toy for Xmas.

How can you read AND watch Gilmore girls?? Impressive. Omg I might spend a day this week when DD is at nursery crocheting and watching Girlmore Girls!! 😃😃

Good morning Lucysmam and others. That sounds very noisy! I've had two coffees and a slice of toast and I'm scrolling before heading to the shower. Then I'll strip the bed before going to meet up with a friend for second breakfast. The rest of the day will be housework but at a glacial pace- interspersed with pottering. Enjoy your day

I’ve had two coffees and am now making pancakes for the kids’ breakfast. Dd will go off to her gym soon and ds and I will probably catch up on GBBO. DP is taking them to their GPs this aft while I do jobs around the house. Homemade pizzas for tea. Have a lovely day all!

@LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand it was! It's peaceful again down here for now. Chaos Kittens are snoozing in the living room, dd1's gone to actually get dressed, and dd2's gone to see if she can get another hour. I've given myself until 9am to scroll MN, then I'll get some clothes on & make a start on the kitchen.

Enjoy second breakfast, my Dad took me for a second breakfast many times after my pre-chemo bloods. Was one of my favourite things 😋

I've just finished my first coffee in bed and it's special because we are in a hotel! Months ago I booked tickets for a band I love and we decided to make a weekend of it. The gig is tonight and in the meantime we are going to go out for breakfast, a walking tour and to see a historical ship. I'm also waiting for notification from the cat lady that all our 🐈 friends are fed and OK (we have far too many).

Thank you Lucysmam I will enjoy it! We go to the local garden centre, sit in the same seats and have the same thing every time! We are creatures of habit

We're all utterly exhausted after what feels like the longest half term ever.

DC1 went back a whole week before the others so they've done an epic 8.5 week term.

Decided to give us all a rest today so we aren't going swimming this week.

I'm just about to have a shower and all 3 DC are currently planning a Halloween play (they are currently writing the script and raiding the dressing up box!)

We've got some new furniture to build so we'll need to do a dump run at some point for the old stuff (we've given away what we can, the rest is just too old / crap)

I fancy trying a new recipe so am going to grab the ingredients for Marsala Chicken (my lovely FIL makes it and I probably won't be able to recreate it)

I want us all just to have a proper rest this weekend. We've been so, so busy.

Good morning. Dh can’t find any friends to play with so he’s trying to force us to go for a bike ride with him instead. He is facing zero enthusiasm, but is loading bikes into the car unfazed.

On the cat theme, I’m a cat lady and I will shortly be going to do my round. Bit late this morning. Sorry kitties.

Good morning, my husbands taken our two swimming so I’m sat with the dog with the radio on.

When everyones back we’re going out for lunch, McDonalds because we’re classy and then I’m taking our oldest and some of his friends to see the new bettlejuice.

I am drinking tea and contemplating swapping round the furniture, you know, as you do.
We are going out to lunch at a fairly foodie pub (wedding anniversary)
I have some painting to finish later on, if I am not too stuffed.
If I remember, I will be watching the Brian Cox programme on the Solar system later. DH isn't into that, so will probably snooze.

Travelling back from Ibiza- can’t wait for a coffee on my own sofa with a nice candle burning

My next one's beabadoobie - apparently I told dd1 I'd go with her...I have no recollection of this & am now the responsible grown up going with a group of almost 18yo's who don't really need me there (but I'm keeping my ticket!) 🤔

@Crunchymum it was indeed the longest half term ever! I was so pleased our school hosted yesterday & TA's weren't expected!

It's a very cold start here.
My day off looks like I'm being mum's taxi again today.
Just back from dropping the eldest to work, about to take the 2nd eldest to work then to ferry the others to meet their friends.
We live rually, and though the views and quiet are amazing, the realisation of no one can get anywhere without me is a big one!
The Eldest can drive. However, his vehicle is off the road at the moment.
I'm looking forward to a day in tomorrow, even though it'll be spent cleaning.

I have a day alone today, I’ll be going out to get more paint samples, decorator starts in a week and I’m no closer to choosing The One!

Had a veg box delivered yesterday so will be making several recipes this afternoon and planting up a zillion bulbs.

Somewhere in between I’ll be watching a few more episodes of Rivals.

Good morning all, had my morning coffee and just about to go off for a long soak in the bath. Then it's cleaning and a tip run once the teen has surfaced! My bed is currently upside down with boxes and spare mattresses .. this has to be sorted today as I can't stand the disorganised state! I built two new beds earlier in the week and now have to tip the old stuff, one bed being passed on and I've somehow managed to agree to deliver that today. Hey ho - crack on 🥴

My DB and his family are on their way down to stay for the weekend so I'm excited about that. We're mid house clean and DS is putting up Halloween decorations. When they arrive, we'll go to the park to tire the kids out then back here for a little party. DH doing a lovely slow cooked chilli for tea.

Just sat finishing my ☕️ and now feeding dd as the second I sit down she's on me at the moment! Then heading into town to go to the library and cafe after. No plans for the afternoon - I think everyone (definitely me!) needs a chilled one so will probably stick a film on.

Good morning everyone. A nice, quiet morning here with just me and dd20 awake. Dh is at work, dd10 slept at her friend’s house next door but one and dd17 is still asleep and will probably stay that way til after 12.

I plan on a quiet day today, I felt ropey all day yesterday and still feel a little lightheaded today so I’ll be taking it easy. I need to do some washing and a few bits round the house but the proper cleaning can wait til tomorrow when I’m hopefully feeling back to normal.

I have my Tesco shop coming in a couple of hours so as I’m already showered and dressed I can just sit and relax for a bit now and mindlessly scroll til I get bored and find something else to do. We have sausage pasta on the menu for tonight then dh is going out. I plan to sit and either watch a film if I can find one or start a new series with the girls before bed.

I’ve finished my first coffee and waved my boys off - they’re going to Rhodes with their dad for half term.

DP and I need to strip all the kids beds, clean the upstairs bathrooms and hoover all the upstairs rooms and we need to get on with it as we are off to Leeds to visit our friends this afternoon.

We're hanging out with them tonight and tomorrow and then moving on to Manchester for the day and night in Monday so if anyone has any restaurant/fun things to recommend that would be great!

I’ve got a new job and they have bases in both Leeds and Manchester as well as London so doing a bit of a recce and will be travelling oop t’north more often soon…

Packed the kids, dog and DH off for half term, so I've got a whole weekend to blitz the house.

I'm actually really looking forward to a proper sort-out and decluttering session which I never manage to get around to. And I'm going to clean the carpets so they have time to dry before they get back (is there any job more satisfying!?)

I'm going to reward myself tonight with a long hot bath, a glass of wine, and Rivals!

Currently in the bath having a soak. I've had coffee and toast and fruit and spent an hour down a Rightmove wormhole. I normally have a lovely bath on Sunday mornings but am on call tomorrow and no idea what the day will bring. Best not to plan.

Once soaked and scrubbed I will read some of my book for my uni course. House is immaculate as had viewings yesterday so no cleaning required this weekend, just some laundry.

Later I'm going to meet my friend for lunch and wine (if my dh will drive me, trains are all off) or just lunch if I have to drive. Tbf I had three glasses of wine last night at dinner with friends so a day off may not be a bad thing! Dh/dc are making butter chicken and naan for tea, but I'm planning on smashing a large plate of pasta for lunch so might just have something light much later. There's a cheese scone with my name on.

Maybe a call with my dd who is away at uni this eve. Then either some TV or a book and an early night. I'll need to be up early and firing on all cylinders tomorrow.

Two small ones up, DD5 crafting with abandon, there is a haunted house puppet show being created, DS3 glued to a cartoon. DD10 off to karate with her dad shortly so I'm in with the little ones this morning, primed with two coffees and expecting to be setting up a new fish tank this pm (much excitement here, first pets) and then meeting friends later.

The teen is away with scouts for the weekend so I've booked myself into a spa. I hopefully have a whole day ahead of me without needing to feed anyone or solve anyone's problems! The pool and sauna are nice trimmings but I'm mainly looking forward to laying down very quietly 😁
