My daughter is in labour and I'm a mess of emotion

As above. My adult daughter is in labour with her first baby, her partner is with her, and I will get updates from time to time.
I won't be mithering them for updates, I'm happy to hear whenever they choose to update, including if they wait until baby comes, but I'm a mess of emotion and worry. I just hope all goes well for her and the baby and it's not too awful.
She's been in early stages of labour since early this morning, has been up to the hospital and sent home again. She says she's doing ok.
Just sharing on here as I have nobody around at the moment to share with, and hoping that some can understand my emotions at my lovely daughter now being in the process of birthing her own child.
I can remember my labour and her birth so well, as if it was yesterday. I was in labour a long time, and she was born at home (as intended).
Feeling quite teary at the moment with the wonder of it all.

Congratulations OP, I've only just seen this thread and just wanted to say I became a nanna for the first time just over a week ago to baby Emmie. I'm also sat in bed currently crocheting a cot blanket, lol. What a wonderful feeling it is becoming a grandparent, something I've wanted for a long time. Hope mum and baby are both well x

Ahh lovely, congratulations to you too

Welcome to the world baby Imogen, 7.2 lbs, very healthy, with a shock of black hair, feeding all ready.
My daughter is knackered but fine.
The photos are incredible. Unfortunately I can't share on here
Unable to type for tears of joy.
Thank heavens the birth is over and all is ok.
Thank you all SO MUCH for keeping me company through this. Your comments have been lovely and I really do appreciate it.

Congratulations, @Eremomila, how lovely for you. I hope your daughter has spent a good night and that you will get to meet little Imogen and reassure yourself that mother and daugther are doing fine, shortly!

How exciting!

Re blood loss, I lost a similar amount and it took a few months to feel normal so worth keeping an eye on but not the end of the world. It's the rough end of normal but quite common for long labours apparently. I think your home cooked meals should go a long way to helping her feel better quicker.

Imogen is very lucky to have a lovely grandma like you ❤️

Congratulations. I’m delighted for you all. I adore her name

Goodtogossip · 23/10/2024 14:16

It's such a worry isn't it but I'm sure all will go well & your baby Granddaughter will arrive soon. It's the best feeling ever being a Nana.

fixyourgardengate · 23/10/2024 16:19

Congratulations!

My daughter is also Imogen (Immy) and has a wonderful bond with my Mum who is also Granny.

Her older brother couldn't say Granny so she was called Aggy by all 4 grandkids for years, although none of them can remember it 😆

Washingupdone · 23/10/2024 18:01

Congratulations granny! I love the name Imogen.

fudgesmummy · 24/10/2024 22:58

Wonderful news, welcome to the world little Imogen ❤️
Don’t worry about not being able to be an active Granny, I am in a wheelchair and have to use 2 sticks to get around the house. My grandchildren love me as I am!
And we have a new grandson joining the family in March, I can’t wait

IggyAce · 25/10/2024 16:03

Aww congratulations @Eremomila, my Imogen is now 18 and she too had a lot of dark hair. Enjoy the baby snuggles.

vladimirVsvolodymr · 27/10/2024 22:06
