How’s Your Friday Night Shaping Up So Far?

I’m feeling distinctly under the weather - got some sort of low level virus which just isn’t shifting. It’s been so dull & miserable today which really isn’t helping! Got a nice easy tea of fishfingers, chips & beans. We’ll watch Corrie & I might catch up with last night’s All Creatures Great & Small.

it’s been a busy week so looking forward to getting the kids to bed at half past and laying on the sofa watching the football.
kids had an easy tea of fish finger sarnies (their request) and i made me and DH chicken tikka dirty fries from my new slimming world book.
definately having a chilled out night, before girls night at my sisters tomorrow!

PandaChopChop · 18/10/2024 19:18

I'm just home watching The Cleaner. Trying not to feel too sorry for myself for being on my own. A friend with benefits was due to visit but I think they aren't coming.
I'm going to a wedding on my own too tomorrow and I don't know if I want to go!

NunyaBeeswax · 18/10/2024 19:20

I've just had me tea:
Cheese topped rolls with pork and stuffing slices, cheese, lettuce and mayo. Paired nicely with some mini sausages rolls and a bag of mini cheddars... Followed by some Fudge cake bars, which are bloomin delicious..

Now I'm sat in comfy joggers and comfy big t-shirt, watching Anime on the telly with a full belly and a small dog.. meanwhile my kid is in her room, chatting with her mates in video calls whilst getting herself ready for her bath.

Typical Friday night really. I'll get cosy under a blanket in a minute, which the dog will try to worm his way under... 🤣

I'm 3 weeks post covid but have been left with a really dry cough that feels constant . Had the day off today and didn't get dressed and spent the day on the sofa watching Netflix .

Freemanhardyandwillis · 18/10/2024 19:31

Kids are doing last minute homework for school tomorrow and complaining about having school on Saturdays - can't say I blame them! Dh and ds19 are out so I am going to watch Rivals as soon as the others have gone to bed.

CalicoPusscat · 18/10/2024 19:35

Lovely and quiet, at a friend's. Going to go back home soon and finish a film.

notinthefingmood · 18/10/2024 19:36

Dropped my 16yr old at a party- she's being brought home by another parent, husband is on night so though me and the 18yr old could go for a drink but she'd rather sit home and watch heartstopper.
So I'm in bed on mumsnet

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 18/10/2024 19:37

Sorry you’re unwell. I’m also feeling crappy with a cold and work anxiety. Had a chicken and veg traybake and now on sofa with DD watching some reality tv about dads and kids in the jungle.

WhatsInTheRug · 18/10/2024 19:41

Just ironed my uniform and off to do a night shift in prison

It's an overtime shift, short staffed as usual. Regretting volunteering now if I'm honest!

MinnieMountain · 18/10/2024 19:43

DH, DS and I have had pizza and apple strudel for supper. We watched Zoolander.

I’ve been in my pyjamas since 5pm. It’s the 4th anniversary of my mum’s death today and the sadness and anger hit me like a tonne of bricks. I’d planned to go out but my friend understood.

I’m going to watch an episode of Rivals later.

I separated from my husband at the start of the year and went to a wedding on my own a few weeks ago. I was dreading it, and it made me a bit resentful of him all over again actually, but I had a great time!

Go with your shoulders back, a smile on your face and your dancing pants on. You'll have a ball 😊

Thankyou ☺️
I'm 2 years post separation. Very used to doing things by myself but a wedding is a new one! I asked my friend to come with me but she cancelled at the beginning of the week and it's made me feel even worse!
I have decided to go and get my nails done in the morning as a small treat.

StMarieforme · 18/10/2024 19:52

Working and finally managed to face watching Friends again after Matthew Perry's death last year.

greengreyblue · 18/10/2024 19:52

Friday is the only night of the week that I don’t cook for the family! It’s only DH and DD 20 left at home now . I’ve had some Prosecco and some air fried calamari and prawns with salad. Very tired this week so a bit of TV and looking forward to a lazy morning.

Sidebeforeself · 18/10/2024 19:53

Just about to watch Leeds United play ( from behind the sofa!) Had a lovely tea of jacket potatoes ..paired with a delicious cold Picpol. DH is bit down so keeping a gentle eye on him by prodding him every two minutes and asking him if he’s okay.

leia24 · 18/10/2024 19:55

We had our tea early at about 5 and then my daughter went to dance, just picked her uo and dropped two of her friends home and we just got in. She's now in her bedroom watching TV or something and I'm considering reading my kindle.

Ti7ch · 18/10/2024 19:56

Currently in a premier Inn watching TOTP.

Gowlett · 18/10/2024 19:58

Sitting on the sofa with my kid, watching some YouTube nonsense.
Got a chicken stew bubbling away.
DH will be home from work / pub soon.

Meadowfinch · 18/10/2024 19:59

So far..

Helped out with local primary-age youth club, made a lot of chocolate coated apples with sprinkles. Got soundly beaten at table football.

Then home, made ds pizza, garlic bread & salad. Now he's munching, I'm making me a seafood risotto.

I'm also trying to throw off a virus so I'll have a lazy evening on the sofa watching telly.

Hope you feel better soon, OP

PassingStranger · 18/10/2024 20:01

Lovely tea. Fillet Steak, strawberries and cream. Off for a shower and hair wash soon then relax.

NorthernChinchilla · 18/10/2024 20:02

Week should have been: birthday celebrations, family visit. Tonight should have been family coming over, us cooking a roast, off to NT place tomorrow.
Reality: got Covid on my birthday, spent week in bed. Tonight felt mildly better, but dinner totally fucked as DS had used oven before and left it coated in oil, so our dinner just tasted of burnt oil. Necking Difflam spray rather than rosé.
Will watch a rerun of something then bed!

Preppingpenguin · 18/10/2024 20:06

I'm two hours into a 12h night shift, don't finish until 6am.
It's absolutely chucking it down outside and is forecast to all night so we'll have flooding by midnight. Honestly kinda hope the place blows up, given the highly combustible and explosive materials we work with and the large number of electrical faults, it's not completely unlikely, although I'd prefer to be a few miles away if it does happen.

Wish I'd called in sick

Hudders3 · 18/10/2024 20:06

Fillet steak just about to go on. Bottle of red decanted. Back from holiday today. All unpacked and 2nd load of washing on. Set for a chilled eve in front of the TV Grin

Begaydocrime94 · 18/10/2024 20:06

I love cosy threads like this :)
I’ve made dal makhani in the slow cooker and just had it with rice and naan, double cream and coriander in it. Daughter had a little bit but not much, then we had strawberries and ice cream after. Partner wasn’t hungry! Now we’re on the sofa watching MAFS whilst he drinks beers and I’ve a cup of tea

Sounds very niche!!
