I'm following UAE7TR from Dubai to Gatwick. It is currently flying towards Birmingham instead of Gatwick.

Anyone any ideas what's happening with that one?

Yes and lots of fire trucks waiting at Birmingham airport.

TentEntWenTyfOur · 16/10/2024 21:28

Oh crikey, fingers crossed then. I thought something had to be amiss.

Lots and lots of circling over the sea before coming over England

Bubblebuttress · 16/10/2024 21:29

Really bad thunder storms down here too

DitzyDerbyBabe86 · 16/10/2024 21:30

Just out of interest, how did it catch your attention?

WolfFoxHare · 16/10/2024 21:31

Looks like it may have landed.

TickingAlongNicely · 16/10/2024 21:32

I see another plane lined up for Birmingham so hopefully a sgn its not too bad?

Eyesopenwideawake · 16/10/2024 21:32

Landed in Birmingham by the look of it.

Foggytoppy · 16/10/2024 21:33

Gatwick is having some bad weather apparently.

UPS Stansted to Louisville rattled my windows so I had a look on FR at that one, and then spotted that big one from Dubai, tracked it and then thought... oh hello - what's with all that circling in the Thames estuary?

I know there's a few Flightradar chums on here so thought I'd ask if anyone else was following.

Looks like it has landed okay, I think?

LadyWiddiothethird · 16/10/2024 21:36

Yes looks to have just been diverted.Landed.

TickingAlongNicely · 16/10/2024 21:36

All the fire trucks seem to be out at Gatwick too?

I just asked out of curiosity. I love a bit of FR.
and I’m very jealous that you live so closed to an airport 🙃 our closest one was Doncaster, until it sadly closed. I pray they reopen it.

BoilingHotand50something · 16/10/2024 21:40

CDG to LHR circling around and around.

MiscellaneousSupportHuman · 16/10/2024 21:40

How do you know the fire trucks are out?

Is there a set of airport webcams? Or are you MNetting from your aviation workplace?

You can see them on FR, same as planes. First time I've ever seen it.

We don't live that close - it was just a lot louder than usual and I guessed it was the UPS flight, it goes over at about 9.20ish every evening and thought I'd have a look to see its altitude. Then found the other one.

LHR diverted to Gatwick though, wonder why

Just had a wee peek and can't see anything too unusual. Lots of circling planes but it looks crazy busy even for LHR so probably normal to have to circle before joining the queue.

JellicleCat · 16/10/2024 21:43

Parked it up away from the terminal too

I love that we have “usual” planes that fly over. We seem to be on the flight path for Dubai to Manchester. Love hearing it go over.

Airport vehicles show up as grey squares on FR.
