He hasn't done anything wrong he is working toward stuff done more then the tories did in last five years

I do hope he is "working toward stuff done more than the tories did in last five years".
I voted for him and his party precisely because I believed they could not possibly be any worse than the Tories, and because I thought they would be more in tune with the lives of ordinary people.
I hope that in time I'm proved right, and it's still such early days.
But for an already very rich Prime Minister to accept thousands of pounds worth of clothing, glasses, etc for him and his wife is, in my view disgustingly grubby and entitled, and I don't know how he couldn't see how that would come across to people who are struggling financially.
As I said earlier, why on earth can't he buy his own clothes and glasses?
You say "he hasn't done anything wrong" - well, we will have to agree to disagree.
Many more people are appalled at his greed too, not just the predictable right-leaning press, but including many of his party colleagues.
And I remain in my stance of having lost respect for him.

How do you know that you are a woman?

GrinGrinGrin

MaidOfAle · 06/10/2024 19:06

Paul Draper, after how he treated Catherine Anne Davies. I've not been able to listen to Mansun after finding out.

I concur with a lot of the previous suggestions as well.

ChishiyaBat · 06/10/2024 19:09

For me it's Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day and Fat Mike from NOFX for their views on women. I love the music, but I have no respect for them anymore.

Notjustabrunette · 06/10/2024 18:37

What did he do?

Threw Glinner under the bus.
I used to love him, followed his podcasts, in on the ground floor.
I’m gutted by his luxury opinions

TaraRhu · 06/10/2024 19:13

I'd say Nicola Sturgeon, Johnny depp (apparently now dating a 28 year old ), Ewen McGregor,

HRTQueen · 06/10/2024 19:17

I am very disappointed in Nick Clegg

i really did believe he was a principled politician

Twototwo15 · 06/10/2024 19:19

Stephen King for being a woke idiot, with his men are women statement and stupid digs at Trump in several books. Any actor/musician/entertainer that thinks we want to hear about their political views, such as Alec Baldwin, Robert Deniro and George Clooney, although some of them didn’t have my respect to start with.

Tryonemoretime · 06/10/2024 19:19

Any politician who said that all kids should go to their local comp and then sent their children to private schools....or the nearest top grade comprehensive / grammar.
Any politician who earns a decent whack and then accepts freebies and gives misleading interviews on why it was fine to do so.
Any interviewer who interviews said politicians, doesn't ask the only questions which need answering and lets them get away with misleading and inaccurate answers.

SerafinasGoose · 06/10/2024 19:20

I don't respect people by virtue of the fact that a lot of people know what their faces look like.

piscofrisco · 06/10/2024 19:25

Old hat but I was very disappointed when it emerged that Ryan Giggs was a dark wrong 'un.

MadeleineMummy · 06/10/2024 19:27

I think Trans women should be allowed to self identify as a female and any age as biology is relative. If a 35 year old non-transitioned trans woman who self identifies as a 14 year old girl wants to fight my daughter in a boxing ring then I feel that only the bigots would consider this unfair. Likewise if my daughter wants to self identify a a 60 year old male and wants to fight Mike Tyson, then I think she should be allowed even though the bigots would think she would get brain damage from the encounter. Trans rights are human rights, they are not male rights.

I have never had any respect for celebrities for their "day job". Far too many are self-obsessed and self absorbed. Far too many "slebs" who are just famous for being famous based often on nepotism rather than any genuine talent.

I reserve my respect for the ones who go above and beyond, i.e. genuine long term charity work (not just bunging a bit of money and doing publicity for a charity) - such as long term support, both financially and publicity-wise, fund raising, etc. Those who do it genuinely often aren't doing it just for the publicity, they're doing it because they genuinely want to do good.

I think I only genuinely "respect" maybe a dozen or so people in the big pool of sports personalities, politicians, pop/music stars, actors, etc. Most, I wouldn't give time of the day to!

And your answer is?

IDontHateRainbows · 06/10/2024 19:31

There was a time I thought Anthony Kiedis was cool ( like, 20 years ago) now he just looks pathetic going out with skinny 20 year old model after skinny 20 year old model, the model changes but looks the same whilst he looks sadder and more desperate.

Very funny

Elasticatedtrousers · 06/10/2024 19:35

Really admired David Grohl…

Feel stupid for believing he was a decent human being.

Other than him, I can’t think of one celebrity who has caused me any disappointment. All the usual ones Saville, Edwards, Brand etc creeped me out long before the media s* hit the fan.

bonkersplonkers · 06/10/2024 19:36

Not respect as such but she has a beautiful voice and is so pretty - Rita Ora
Haven't forgotten about her dicking around during covid and not giving a shit

MaidOfSteel · 06/10/2024 19:38

Can I say someone who I have massive respect for. Graham Linehan. His career was trashed while he stood up for women's rights.

As for losing respect or admiration? Prince Harry. A lesson in how to go from hero to zero in one privilege entrenched move.

Batmannequin · 06/10/2024 19:39

Will Smith. Never really thought of him the same since he slapped Chris Rock.

Fescue · 06/10/2024 19:39

Chris Packham

For dis-service to the natural world. I do not like his PR machine and he should never, ever aspire to be the next David Attenborough. He just does not understand humans and how to steer things in the right direction. Its all about him. An animal cuddler he may be, but if he is the best naturalist that the media can find, then god help this planet. There are better people who are just far more ordinary.

Shufflebumnessie · 06/10/2024 18:04

Not people I ever respected, but individuals who's decisions/attitudes/actions have significantly lowered my opinion of them.
David Tennant
Sally Phillips
Joanne Harris
Stephen Fry
Davina McCall
Tom Daley

Why Sally P? Thank you

Yes anyone who criticises Trump or Johnson is a woke idiot who does not appreciate the greatest world leader and world King the world has ever know. I don’t even want to talk to these people.

Oprah Winfrey, after the Megan and Harry interview.
Holly Willoughby for not sticking by a friend.
Harry and Megan.

Are you saying the royal family are celebrities?

Picoloangel · 06/10/2024 19:45

SabreIsMyFave · 06/10/2024 17:51

Classic case of losing the argument. Refusing to engage.

And saying 'I have got LOADS of thanks so that means I am right' is hilarious.

Do you know how utterly pathetic this sounds?!

I guarantee that 95% of posters who say this, have got hardly any 'thanks!' 😆

.

Edited

@SabreIsMyFave yup, it’s the equivalent of saying “everyone agrees with me”

sorrythetruthhurts · 06/10/2024 19:46

David Attenborough
