I find it really difficult to have only a couple of custard creams. Especially with a cuppa. Bought a packet the other day & ate about 7! They’re not my favourite but they’re so moreish!

Fig rolls. Which is a really bad choice for this sort of thing!

Coconut Rings. They're like Pringles, once you pop, you go just can't stop.

I agree. You buy them because they are plain and innocent looking and you think "Well I won't run amok on these" but then....

The ginger rings are the same, and at three packs for £1 you could die of biscuits for a fiver.

longtompot · 29/09/2024 11:26

All of them...

but especially chocolate digestives, especially dark chocolate ones😬

Disturbia81 · 29/09/2024 13:54

Shortbread, chocolate chip cookies, liebniz.. nevermind 7, the whole packet disappears..

MarmiteyCrumpets · 29/09/2024 15:14

Dark chocolate salted mini pretzels. Damn you Lidl! 🤣

soupfiend · 29/09/2024 20:32

Did the recipe for the parmesan and almond biscuts arrive?

YessandNno · 30/09/2024 00:17

soupfiend · 28/09/2024 22:24

Recipe please

@soupfiend @ErrolTheDragon they're incredibly simple to make. Just three ingredients.

100g finely grated parmesan
100g grated cheddar
100g ground almonds

Mix together in a bowl, then put dessert spoonfuls onto a baking tray lined with baking parchment or a silicone sheet and bake in an oven for about 5 - 10 minutes at about 150-160 degrees (ish) till they start to turn golden brown. Leave to cool, then carfully remove from the parchment. They should be crisp and crunchy - and very cheesey! They'll keep in an airtight container for as many days as you can refrain from eating them!

I like mine to be perfect rounds, so I use a round pastry cutter as a guide when putting them onto the baking sheet. One rounded dessert spoonful fits nicely into a 3-inch ring. Press the mixture down gently, so it keeps its shape, carefully remove the ring and do the next one .. and so on.

Jaffa cakes. I can’t buy them without finishing the packet.

Is there something you could replace the ground almonds with? I’m allergic so would need an alternative.

JohnTheRevelator · 30/09/2024 18:34

Shortbread.

Interesting question. I haven't tried any alternatives but if I were going to experiment I might try fine oatmeal or maybe semolina perhaps. I would try a small amount, just enough for a couple of biscuits, rather than the full recipe, and see what happens.

You can also use just the two cheeses, or just parmesan or just cheddar with no other ingredient. The result will be much flatter, more like crisps, but still very tasty.

JadededViewer · 03/03/2025 20:12

shortoedtreecreeper · 03/03/2025 20:15

Any buscuits, especially choclate so perhaps digestives.I try not to buy any because I could eat a whole packet worse when stressed.

Oreos

Have you ever had deep fried Oreos? Dipped in doughnut batter, deep fried, sprinkled with sugar, you end up with a doughnut with warm soft Oreo in the centre.....oh my goodness!!!!!

CanelliniBeans · 04/06/2025 22:27

Fiery ginger biscuits by Border Biscuits

NeedWineNow · 04/06/2025 22:34

Plain chocolate digestives, chocolate fingers and Rich Tea (much to the disgust of DH who considers them the world's most boring biscuit).

amooseymoomum · 05/06/2025 09:59

Biscoff, Jammy Dodgers, Custard Creams
