How are you spending your Saturday night?

DP is visiting family for the weekend with our youngest. Eldest DD is out with friends so it's just me and dd17 tonight. Chinese, wine for me and strictly is the plan, it's nice to spend some time with her 1-1 as she's usually too busy with her mates to hang out with her mum.
So, what's everyone else doing tonight?

Having a quiet night in. Son got married on Thursday and was too tired to stay up beyond 8:30 last night(!) so looking forward to a glass of wine and a film......

itsgettingweird · 28/09/2024 18:13

Sleeping - hopefully!

I've been suffering cluster headaches for a few months and they seem to have settled on every 8th night.

With the added bonus that on that night I wake up every 45 minutes suddenly beforehand.

With a nice side of getting up at 4am in the week anyway as my ds is a swimmer.

Hoping he'll be happy with nuggets and chips in the air fryer for dinner 😂

Bonfire Parade & Fireworks for us!
It's a Sussex thing. Towns have their own society and each one takes turns hosting each weekend leading up to the big one in Lewes on 5th. The parade is made up of the societies and local groups all dressed up and carrying lighted sticks. It's quite a sight to see, especially when you look back up the street and it looks like the place is on fire! Each parade ends at the fire site where there is a huge bonfire and firework displays.

I'm having a takeaway curry and a sit down!

I've been working nearly 7 days a week for ages and I've not been sleeping well so I'm also having an extra early night. It's just bliss here because it's so quiet.

When I was younger my night was Friday so Saturdays were always quieter.

devildeepbluesea · 28/09/2024 18:24

I’m having some wine and watching AbFab - listened to Adrian Edmondson’s autobiography and I was feeling nostalgic! I may have some food, or maybe just some more wine 🤣

@itsgettingweird my sympathies. EXDH suffers from cluster headaches for about 8 weeks, every 2 years or so. I’ve heard them described as the worst pain imaginable.

HighPrecisionGhosts · 28/09/2024 18:24

Walking the dog. Might have a drink at the local pub with DP and the dog. Otherwise early to bed, did a weights class and pilates class this morming and whacked out. Up at 6am to photograph a 10k and an orienteering competition for friends.

HangingOver · 28/09/2024 18:29

Sick in bed 🥺

Kim82 · 28/09/2024 18:34

We’ve just had a takeaway as I couldn’t be bothered cooking. Tonight Dh is going to the pub with his friends, dd20 is going to the cinema, dd17 is staying with a friend overnight, I have a stinking cold so plan on spending the evening on the sofa under a blanket either reading or watching tv and dd10 is currently playing out with her friend from next door but one - she will no doubt join me under the blanket on the sofa around 8.30pm for an hour or so before she goes to bed.

LunaNorth · 28/09/2024 18:38

Thai takeaway and telly.

I’ve been ill all week, so it’s good to be up and about. Getting cabin fever.

BulldogMumma · 28/09/2024 18:39

@itsgettingweird I know people who suffer cluster headaches and they all say it's the worst pain they've ever experienced. I hope you get some relief soon.

I hope everyone feeling unwell gets better soon, our house has been a bug fest all week, dd brought a cold home from school and kindly shared it with the whole household

DD15 is going out with her friends to the cinema and then having a sleepover and her twin sister is currently at judo practice and will probably go to her friend's house after that. DS12 is in Snowdonia on a Geography trip right now. So me, DH, DD9 and DD5 are about to have a movie night, and then we'll put the kids to bed and hopefully have a quiet evening together!

Soccermumamir · 28/09/2024 18:48

Chilled night in front of the TV. Catching up on freshers week for Uni, then a movie later 🙂

PinkStringofHearts · 28/09/2024 18:52

I've had a really long busy day, I'm currently sitting in utter silence too tired to move even though I am starving. I predict I will move soon to the kitchen then back to the sofa and there I will remain until it's an acceptable time to go to bed, I might put something on the TV or I might just stay staring at my phone. Dd is out with friends and dh and ds have gone to the cinema so just me and the pooches to worry about.

FreeSausages · 28/09/2024 18:53

Cheese, crackers, real ale, sofa, tv, pyjamas, bed.

Doggymummar · 28/09/2024 18:54

KFC, expensive wine, Firestarter

weegiemum · 28/09/2024 19:00

I'm on the boat to the Outer Hebrides!

Fleur240 · 28/09/2024 19:03

Just put little one to bed, made a hot chocolate and me and DP are watching TV on the sofa. Praying little one sleeps well, as she’s been constantly ill since the start of September when she started nursery, including a hospital stay on Tuesday night for oxygen due to bronchiolitis! To say she’s not been sleeping well is an understatement and me and DP are exhausted. But you never know, she is still congested but seems a bit better so this could be the night of good sleep 🤞

lucysmam · 28/09/2024 19:04

We're on the way home from Newcastle Uni open day.

Brew & bed, with kittens, for me when we get in.

Dd1 wants to finish some work. Dd2 will probably be doing her homework too 🤷‍♀️

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 28/09/2024 19:08

Prosecco, Pizza and Strictly with my sister - why bother going out? 😂

Sortalike · 28/09/2024 19:09

Going to go and have a soak in the bath, I've been gardening all day, am knackered and aching now.

DH and DD are playing on the Xbox, dog fast asleep on the floor in front of the fire.

Fontainebleau007 · 28/09/2024 19:11

Watching strictly with a curry and a gin and tonic. Then catching up with some shows on prime.

Mogloveseggs · 28/09/2024 19:11

Dh is in the bath
ds is on the Xbox
im on the sofa with the puppy watching strictly

wavingfuriously · 28/09/2024 19:11

Mulling over a wasted day...did things I had to do then tried to do things I wanted to do..failed that followed by massive boring shopping felt compelled to do followed by collapse on sofa feeling worn out..waste of the whole day!🤷‍♀️🫤

BulldogMumma · 28/09/2024 19:14

@Fleur240 I feel your pain, my dd had bronchiolitis twice as a baby, she's 9 now and I still remember the sleepless nights, it's just awful.

Been out three times today - various errands and driving teen son back and forth to a party. Has anyone been in a bowling alley lately, my god they are horrendous. Glad I can drop him off these days, he won a light sabre balloon with his arcade tickets so he's pleased haha. He ate at the party so we had Japanese takeaway for me and husband, now cuddling the cat and watching Capital and soon to move on to No One Wants This.
