How are you spending your Saturday night?

DP is visiting family for the weekend with our youngest. Eldest DD is out with friends so it's just me and dd17 tonight. Chinese, wine for me and strictly is the plan, it's nice to spend some time with her 1-1 as she's usually too busy with her mates to hang out with her mum.
So, what's everyone else doing tonight?

I rarely go out on the weekend unless we go away. So am in PJs; just watched a Narnia film on ITV2 and am now watching Strictly on the IPlayer. I have a couple of beers to hand and then having some breaded fish, tomorrow's and butternut squash fries (air fryer)

Guavafish1 · 28/09/2024 19:19

Strictly and takeaway

LoserWinner · 28/09/2024 19:20

A cocktail and then ‘House’ at the Barbican.

ThatMakesSense · 28/09/2024 19:22

Listening to my 14yr old singing Let it Goooooo. Dog in basket - DH changing the beds and tumble dryer going. Watching the rest of the dreadful Pitt/Clooney Wolf film in a bit. Rock 'n Roll.

had an early start to take a friend to the airport, then went to a 70th birthday party this afternoon and got stuck in horrendous traffic. I’m on the sofa with a heated throw, a cat and a glass of wine, going to watch another episode of Kaos.

Just put little one to bed, made a hot chocolate and me and DP are watching TV on the sofa. Praying little one sleeps well, as she’s been constantly ill since the start of September when she started nursery, including a hospital stay on Tuesday night for oxygen due to bronchiolitis! To say she’s not been sleeping well is an understatement and me and DP are exhausted. But you never know, she is still congested but seems a bit better so this could be the night of good sleep 🤞

Oh bronchiolitis is horrible isn't it - and scary. Hope she gets well soon

Bonfire Parade & Fireworks for us!
It's a Sussex thing. Towns have their own society and each one takes turns hosting each weekend leading up to the big one in Lewes on 5th. The parade is made up of the societies and local groups all dressed up and carrying lighted sticks. It's quite a sight to see, especially when you look back up the street and it looks like the place is on fire! Each parade ends at the fire site where there is a huge bonfire and firework displays.

Sussex ex-pat here, I miss bonfire so much, I didn't realise that it wasn't a thing everywhere. We used to go to Lewes every year, and our village had its own fire, which was spectacular. I am currently making a new banner for my son's society, that's my Saturday night.

Waiting for my mezze to arrive (I eat all the hot bits for dinner and keep the cold bits for lunch tomorrow)

Will watch an episode of Dexter once the kids are in bed.

My 24yo self would be very disappointed in my 44yo self 😂

Silviasilvertoes · 28/09/2024 19:27

Settling in our new rescue dog ❤️❤️❤️ She’s a rescued puppy farm breeder and she’s getting her first taste of comfort and love. She’s doing really well already.

LouH5 · 28/09/2024 19:29

Sounds perfect!

My boyfriend is out with friends this aff/eve so I’m making a cheese pie (he hates it so it’s a nice treat tea for me when I’m alone!), have some chocs for after, and have lit all my pumpkin spice candles and I’m sat watching a rom com!

(Jealous of you watching Strictly, but my bf won’t let me watch it without him so we’re saving it for tomorrow!)

BrainLife · 28/09/2024 19:33

I'm in bed. 5yo next to me with his two guinea pigs who are about to go back in their cage. Both in comfy pyjamas watching David Attenborough.

TheWelshposter · 28/09/2024 19:34

I'm on my own tonight so will have full control of the remote control, this is exciting. So Netflix cheesy trash is on the cards.
I'm trying to stay off alcohol for a few months in advance of the many festive parties, so am going to try a non-alcoholic rhubarb gin and fancy tonic water. Will maybe do one of those collagen face masks.

Hedjwitch · 28/09/2024 19:36

Lounging on my bed drinking wine aimlessly scrolling.

MiddleAgedDread · 28/09/2024 19:36

weegiemum · 28/09/2024 19:00

I'm on the boat to the Outer Hebrides!

Ooh very jealous!!
have done all my chores today so just watching tv with a couple of glasses of wine (no more as I have to run in the morning) and then an early night.

Chipsintheair · 28/09/2024 19:38

Playing Animal Crossing.

AnyankaJenkins · 28/09/2024 19:41

Spent day in a small zoo with my 4 year old so am now slumped on the sofa while he plays. It was lovely but am 8 months pg so am exhausted and nauseated/bad indigestion and willing myself to get up to face the bedtime stress. Fingers crossed he sleeps quickly so that I can return to the sofa asap 😁

Username198800 · 28/09/2024 19:45

Im poorly in hospital about to get my book out and dig into a bag of haribos before hopefully getting a decent sleep in between my Obs being taken.

Anyone else visualising guinea pigs in pj's? 🤣

Howdiditgetsobad · 28/09/2024 19:50

DH is out and I’m putting the kids to bed. In my pyjamas already and looking forward to a cup of tea and reading once they are asleep. Booooring but happy as last couple of weekends have been busy and sociable plus my midweeks are hectic at the moment with travel or social stuff so weekends are a welcome quiet time.

chillycat · 28/09/2024 19:50

Strictly; tea, cats, bed. Bliss.

MyBestFriendKenny · 28/09/2024 19:52

DD12 is on Scout camp, DS14 is gaming and DS9 is complaining about coming in from playing outside with his friends. Macaroni Cheese for tea and Inside Out 2 with DH currently.

Haha I just read it again. Sadly I don't own GP PJs but I want some now!

FloatyBoaty · 28/09/2024 19:53

DS is sleeping at his dads so I’m having a tomato mozzarella salad and sourdough for dinner, a couple of beers and a couple of eps of Gilmore girls, and I’ll try and summon some enthusiasm to do some tidying/cleaning before bed… but am sure I’ll end up getting up early to do it in the morning instead! Absolutely knackered tonight.

Crushed23 · 28/09/2024 19:53

I'm premenstrual and have been craving pizza all week and I just thought 'fuck it' and ordered one all to myself 😅

Ate it while watching SATC and texting my friend.

I was moping earlier about having been ghosted by a guy on Hinge, but I've decided to block him and move on. Besides I have a first date with someone else tomorrow that I'm looking forward to 🙂

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 28/09/2024 19:54

We were out for a big lunch, so DP is now making sausage sandwiches for tea. I’ve had a bath and am in comfy cosy clothes watching Strictly, and the cat’s curled up in his bed by the radiator, thrilled the heating’s on. Defo wine later.
