Daughter going on holiday with bf's family

DD is 15 and she's been invited to a week's holiday during half term by her BF and family. They say they are more than happy to cover the costs but we would be paying if we let her go.

Question is - would you allow your 15 year old to go on holiday with their partner? If yes what would the sleeping arrangements be like? Are you quite open to your kids about relationships?

Any advice very grateful. We've never had this experience and she is an only child (not that it makes any difference). What would you do?

I’d consider it if it was a holiday in the UK where she could phone to be collected if needed. She’s too young to extract herself from a situation abroad if it all goes wrong and she doesn’t feel comfortable being there.

I wouldn’t allow it.

It would be a nope from me!

If sleeping arrangements are suitable then yes I’d 100% let them go

If she’s a sensible 15 yr old, I would let her go, after ensuring she was on birth control. If they want to have sex, they will, either on holiday or somewhere else, it’s literally impossible to stop them. All you can do is make sure she protects herself against unwanted pregnancy or STIs.

You're not suggesting it's a good thing by talking to her about consent and contraceptives, you can say to her that you feel it's too early and also that anyone trying to talk her into sex if she's not ready isn't worth hanging onto. Talking about sex won't change her current thoughts on sex/no sex, what it will do is make it a lot less likely she'll wind up pregnant.

If she is having or going to have sex she is going to anyway, whether she is on holiday or at home.

I wa 15 when I went on my first holiday with my then bf. We slept separately because his father insisted on it and it was his home, his rules. But otherwise it was a lovely trip. I wouldn't do her out of the experience.

Only if I knew the parents very well and knew their parenting ideas aligned closely with ours.
Even then, if she’s to have her own hotel room it would probably be a flat no, too young and too easy for them to sneak in together.
