What's your favourite butter?

I'm aware this is a highly personal thing! As I'm sat here eating my lunch. A jacket potato with a shit tonne of butter and sharp cheddar. Crispy seasoned skin. It's heaven.

I am a clover girl through and through. If I cant get clover, I'll find a shop that does. I tried to get on the lurpak hype and it's nice on crusty bread. I'm aware clover isn't pure butter either.

What's your go to butter? And your favourite combos?

French stuff with salt crystals in 😋

Will also accept Kerrygold.

citylightsbehind · 25/09/2024 13:08

Hands down, Échiré.

Colinswheels · 25/09/2024 13:08

President but will accept most butters if pushed.

Life is too short for margarine though and I will not eat it under any circumstances.

I can't believe it's not butter.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 25/09/2024 13:10

Longley Farm Jersey butter. Luckily it's not easy to find in this area, or I'd be eating it by the slice every day.

We're another 'no margarine' house. We don't like the taste or texture so stick to butter.

Cattery · 25/09/2024 13:10

Anchor

chickenbhunalambbhunaprawnbhunamuchroomrice · 25/09/2024 13:11

Is clover counted as marg!?!?

I knew it wasn't butter completely but maybe I've been living under a rock

I do love the president butter with the salt rocks but only on thick toast as I find it a bit much! The lurpak garlic butter is great too on homemade garlic bread

Kerrygold. Sadly I cannot source French Butter easily.

chickenbhunalambbhunaprawnbhunamuchroomrice · 25/09/2024 13:11

I've heard good things about kerrygold actually. Particularly in baking!

Netherend Farm Lightly Salted Butter.

discoballdave · 25/09/2024 13:16

Salted Welsh butter.

ginasevern · 25/09/2024 13:17

Clover, really? I usually buy Isigny St Mere (French) or Beppino Occelli (Italian). I'm also very partial to Longley Farm Jersey butter as mentioned above but it's not easy to get hold of.

Hoppinggreen · 25/09/2024 13:18

A lot of these do not deserve the name butter
Its Longley Farm all the way for me, its relatively local so easy to find

Purplecatshopaholic · 25/09/2024 13:18

In which case you probably don't belong on a thread about butter

pickedplock · 25/09/2024 13:20

Clover isn't butter! Any spread like that is the work of the devil, google how it's made Envy only 100% real butter in this house. A few swear words when sandwiches are being made in the cold, but I won't eat that other crap out of principle!

Fernhurst · 25/09/2024 13:21

Lurpak

Necessary, or uncalled for? 🙄

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 25/09/2024 13:25

President. The one with salt crystals.

Nemasu · 25/09/2024 13:25

Anchor salted block butter.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 25/09/2024 13:26

Lurpak is butter. It's just lactic butter.
