What's your favourite butter?

I'm aware this is a highly personal thing! As I'm sat here eating my lunch. A jacket potato with a shit tonne of butter and sharp cheddar. Crispy seasoned skin. It's heaven.

I am a clover girl through and through. If I cant get clover, I'll find a shop that does. I tried to get on the lurpak hype and it's nice on crusty bread. I'm aware clover isn't pure butter either.

What's your go to butter? And your favourite combos?

My kids won’t eat breakfast club toast in school because they say it tastes awful; I’m convinced it’s the margarine! We’re another no marg house - I have horrific memories of being a child and biting into a sandwich to find a layer of margarine inside. Haven’t touched it since.

We love Normandy butter with salt crystals (Ocado - M&S or Waitrose) but will eat most good salted butter. We use mayo on sandwiches so spreading it isn’t a problem. Our kitchen is cold but in the summer, I cut a third off the block for the butter dish.

Well I can report back that the Castle Dairies Salted Welsh Butter with Halen Mon was nothing special & prefer the Sainsbury's West Country Farmhouse butter, so have gone back to that.
Also tried the local dairy's fresh homemade butter but again not a patch on my favourite.

If I’m pushing the boat out, Cornish with sea salt. Otherwise any British salted butter. I like to support our own farmers, so no French, Danish (Lurpak) or any other.

I'm in Ireland, so Kerrygold is my staple but any of the Irish butters. Nothing in a tub, or spreadable, or with added oil. Just good old fashioned plain butter.

🤮🤮 Margarine is disgusting. My mum used to buy st ivel gold which made me want to vomit. Vile beyond belief. I'd rather have nothing than put margarine on my toast.

No tubs or spreadable.. No margarine. Pretty much any real butter, salted. I sometimes make butter, and it's great, but all real butter is just churned cream and possibly salt.
