Coldplay tickets

We have the option of either trying for both dates in Hull or the sat in London.
DH & I have both signed up to presale but not sure what's going to best to try for. Mathematically I guess the odds are better for London as 50% of Hull are going to local residents.
I'm honestly spending too much time thinking about this. Mainly because my DD would love to go.
Anyone else going to try for them?

Are you prepared for dynamic pricing and/or an Oasis situation? Doubt it will be that bad but don't assume it won't be. What is it £150 per ticket?

ThisBlueCrab · 22/09/2024 17:35

@hby9628 my 11 year old has coldplay concert as her bucket list concert. So I have ordered the new album for resale codes. I am also having the dilemma over which venue.

Hull is more local for us and the dates are week nights so potentially less attractive as Wembley has Friday and Saturday dates.

hby9628 · 22/09/2024 17:40

@Pedallleur I don't think they will do dynamic pricing. I think they are more concerned for their fans. They are releasing some £20 tickets in November.
@ThisBlueCrab Hull is closest for us too. We are in mcr but I think the changes are so slim with it being a much smaller stadium. Even just having 1 date as an option for tickets gives us a higher chance

Once you're in the queue I think you just have to stick with it & hope rather than go back & forth.

It says £70 - £100 per ticket in the media. I wouldn't go more than £150 each.

apparently only 10-20% of tickets are allocated to the presale

@hby9628 we are sheffield so both are easily accessible but Hull would be more convenient.

I am just praying I get tickets or dd might bury me under the patio 🤣🤣🤣

Dontsayyouloveme · 22/09/2024 18:32

Yep! Me ! I had a ticket to see them at etihad stadium in Manchester last year and sold it as I couldn’t be bothered!! Regretted it ever since so I’m deffo going to try and get tickets for whenever and wherever! I really don’t want to miss it this time.. not after watching that Glasto performance 🎉🎉🎉🤩

Allanxiousarentwe · 22/09/2024 18:37

I'm finding the whole thing stressful already - hence finding this thread haha! I know a few people who went the the most recent tour at Wembley, and because it's a bigger venue they managed to get tickets. I've looked at Hull, as this would be closer for us too, but don't want to lessen my chances, it's capacity isn't very big at all is it? And with Wembley being Friday/Sat at least we have the weekend to recover haha! Oh I don't know what to do for the best. I just want tickets, without the repeat of Oasis!

hby9628 · 22/09/2024 18:40

Hull capacity is 22500 for concerts with half going to locals so 11225 but only approx 20% on presale
Wembley 90,000 capacity but potentially people from everywhere will try for there. I wonder if they may do more Wembley dates

I've honestly spent too much time trying to decide! We are a bit stuck as it's our hols so we want to get away during those 2 weeks. Can't believe Chris didn't check our plans first. So selfish.

Allanxiousarentwe · 22/09/2024 18:43

😂 when I was questioning about it being Hull today and capacity not being big enough, and why could it not be Manchester, my DH said take it up with Chris Martin, send him an email 😂 I think I may have driven him insane with my overthinking!

hby9628 · 22/09/2024 18:45

Hahahaaa! It's an unusual location. Someone told me it's to bring money to the area. It would be a great venue as it's much smaller. Be an amazing atmosphere I just think it's going to be really tough to get tickets

2 years ago we planned our summer holiday around Coldplay and GCSE results.....and then at the last minute the changed the date of the concert!! 😱 (luckily we could still go - and it was fab)

ThisBlueCrab · 22/09/2024 18:59

Dd was too young to go last time so am desperate to try this time. Have already told my boss he won't get much out of me Thursday cos I'll be trying to get tickets 🤣🤣

hby9628 · 22/09/2024 19:10

Yeah I'm going in a bit late on Thursday & my boss is the same for the same reason. Hoping it will all be over quickly to be honest!

Gingercatlover · 22/09/2024 20:03

I'm trying for Hull as I have one of the local post codes, 6pm Thursday.

We shall see....

hby9628 · 22/09/2024 20:07

Good luck @Gingercatlover

I've just read that Kylie tickets go on sale on Ticketmaster next Friday at the same time as Coldplay. That's directly going to be carnage

Will be interesting 🤨

hby9628 · 25/09/2024 17:56

NattyCritic · 25/09/2024 19:38

Does anybody know if I need a presale code for the postcode presale or are they just open to everyone at 6pm tomorrow?

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 25/09/2024 19:51

Ooo didn't know they were doing a presale code..booo. oh well try Friday see what occurs. Saw them 2016 and at Radio one weekend such a good performance. The energy is impressive

SpringCalling · 25/09/2024 19:55

got code too, limbering up for 9am. bagging a ticket may be the only thing i do this year which impresses teen daughter

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 25/09/2024 20:11

daft question here please…. I haven’t got a presale code but do have an applicable postcode for hull. But how do “they” know I have that when i try?? Or will ticketmaster know already via my account?

thursdaymurderclub · 25/09/2024 20:12

we are trying for hull.. but would be equally happy with london, we do the trip for gigs regularly... fingers crossed the prices are not silly

hby9628 · 25/09/2024 20:24

Sorry I don't know how it works for the postcode tickets. Hopefully somebody more helpful will come along soon
