Good morning from my regular kitchen spot. I've put dd2's uniform on to wash & fed the kittens. Don't plan to move for a couple of hours now!

We don't have anything much planned for the day, after walking miles in Durham yesterday, so will probably just potter round straightening up the house. I might list a couple more things on Vinted too.

Dd2's off out with friends for a couple of hours, around mid-day. And dd1 has some college work to finish and submit. I've asked dd1 to start writing a list of things she'll need/want for uni so will encourage her to start that again.

No idea what's for tea - none of us got anything out to defrost last night 🤷‍♀️ so probably something beige, or maybe a salad of some sort.

Tonight it'll be my self-care Sunday scrubby shower, chill with another episode of Sherlock, and then a very early night ready for work tomorrow 😴

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning I’m still in bed it’s thundering and heavy rain here so snuggled up listening to court tv podcast
Dh is pottering around downstairs
No plans today just getting ready for the week
Probably have pasta and garlic bread later
Will FaceTime Dd tonight (she’s just completed her 1st week at uni ) her boyfriends visiting her this weekend
I love a lazy Sunday

FlorencenotRatchet · 22/09/2024 09:34

Morning @lucysmam and all happy Sunday.
Am still in Greece. Just arrived at the beach and looking forward to reading my book in the sunshine.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Thislittlekitten · 22/09/2024 09:34

Morning @lucysmam

Been up for a few hours. Sent DS off to his club. Not much planned here either. Uniforms. Hoover ect. I’ve been ill for a while and allowing myself to have quieter weekends without feeling guilty just now.

DD still asleep. DH making noises about breakfast for us. DDog needs a walk. Dcats are snoozing.

We are going to my parents for tea tonight which I’m looking forward too.

OldTinHat · 22/09/2024 09:36

Morning @lucysmam and all!

I had a great first night with new doggo. We've been for a walk, but wish me luck, it's going to be bath time later this morning...she's a bit dirty and whiffy!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/09/2024 09:43

Very jealous of the Greek beach! It's pissing down here. I'm currently in bed doing a Sainsbury's order, one of my least favourite things of the week.

I was going to try to persuade DP to come out for a pub lunch, as I could do with nipping into M&S for some tights, but the weather is so awful that it's not really appealing. I might stay in and make a dress instead.

Peridot1 · 22/09/2024 09:45

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.

Did DD like Durham @lucysmam? DH went to uni there. Many many years ago!

I have been up a while. Have had a few cups of tea and a slice of toast.

Dull and rainy here so not planning much. I have done something to my back too so not feeling up to much.

Doing some sorting and rearranging of stuff in the house to fill and sort new cupboards in dining area which means moving stuff from various places and seeing what looks good where. Also means cleaning while I go. I seem to have a lot of silver to polish so I think I might need to engage a butler. 😂 It was the butler that polished the silver in Downton wasn’t it? (Polishing silver makes me seem much posher and wealthier than I am!)

Steak for dinner tonight with roast potatoes, onions, mushrooms peas and pepper sauce. And wine.

Kim82 · 22/09/2024 09:45

Good morning everyone, I’ve not posted for a while as we’ve been ridiculously busy, this is the first weekend I’ve had with no plans whatsoever and it’s heaven!

I’m the only one up so far although I have just been up to wake dd10 as if she sleeps in too long she won’t be able to sleep at a decent time tonight. Dd20 was up and out to work at 6am and both dh and dd17 are still asleep.

I was up at 8 and have had a lovely, peaceful morning. I fed the cats and put the washer on and have just sat drinking cups of tea in silence.

The house is clean so I plan to relax and read today. We’re having lamb shanks for tea then an early night ready for the week ahead.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 22/09/2024 09:46

Morning!
Got up and cut up courgettes and left to soak in salt for a moussaka later. Just nipped to tesco to get yogurts for the LO.
We have church where I'm on creche duty, then we come home for LO nap. I'll cook meat for moussaka then.
Then we are off to PIL (MIL is unwell) for a couple hours.
Hopefully I'll get home in time to get washing sorted, finish moussaka and get some ironing done 🤣
Basically a normal Sunday!

lucysmam · 22/09/2024 09:51

Aw @OldTinHat I'm happy seeing you're enjoying your new pup 😊 can we see a picture?

@Peridot1 it's a beautiful city, she loved it! It's a toss up between Durham, Newcastle, or King's College.

Good morning lucysmam & the Sunday gang! Working later but I don’t mind too much as it’s dull outside. Sunday shifts always fly by as it gets very busy. There are still quite a few holidaymakers around. We were going to have bangers & mash for tea but I’ve decided to do kievs, jacket spuds & peas instead. The dishwasher needs unloading/loading & the surfaces need a good wipe. Basically the whole house needs what DM calls “ a good bottoming”! Think I might clear out the kitchen cupboards this week. I need to take the washing out of the machine & tumble dry it, except for one dress which isn’t suitable. Might watch a film tonight if DH & I can stay awake!

CoffeandTiaMaria · 22/09/2024 09:54

Good morning, it’s bucketing down here and I have no intention of venturing out unless the dog starts pestering me - DH is supposed to be walking her this morning.
So far I have tidied the kitchen, prepared the dinner (chicken Provençal, new potatoes, peas and runner beans), made a fruit crumble and enjoyed my fried egg and tomatoes on toast.
I started some slow stitching yesterday, something new for me, so that’s what I plan to do today 😊

Billybiscuit · 22/09/2024 09:57

Good morning everyone went for a walk with the dogs for over an hour this morning, started off raining but then stopped, just as well because my umbrella broke so need a new one.
I am going to tesco in a minute for chicken, vegetables, potatoes, yorkshire puddings etc... really want a chicken roast.
Going to deep clean the living room today, kitchen was done yesterday.
Full bath latter, and chill in front of tv tonight.

DilemmaDelilah · 22/09/2024 09:57

Good morning @lucysmam . I hope you enjoyed Durham and aren't too exhausted!

My DH brought me my breakfast in bed a while ago and in a little while I will get my clothes on and we will bimble along to Lidl. We don't need much, just a few things to tide us over until our next grocery delivery, which I haven't even booked yet! I'm trying to use up stuff from the freezer.

DH is meant to be in charge of shopping/cooking/freezer stock monitoring, as he is retired and I'm not, but somehow we have 2 freezers full of food and he says we don't have anything to eat! I feel a good 2 weeks to a month of eating freezer food coming up. Chicken nuggets, chicken kievs, meatballs, sausages, fish fingers, fish in sauce plus of course the freezer roulette of things I have batch cooked that he has put away without labelling....... I know there are several containers of home made soup and some of good chicken stock in there as well, but as to what actually gets taken out to eat... I have no idea what's in the containers so we could end up eating anything!

And before anyone says anything - yes I do ask/remind him to label things. Yes we do have sharpies/masking or brown tape to label things. No he doesn't like freezer roulette.

So anyway... a Lidl visit this morning, which may result in something from whatever country is being featured this week, a fruit/veg bargain box, and some fresh veg/bread as we have run out. And probably snacks.

Giggorata · 22/09/2024 10:02

Good morning lucysmam and all,

I am off the road at the moment so it's a day at home.
I have a box I've been filling up for a charity auction in the village, so DH will be dropping it in later.
I have a wash on and it looks as though it is going to rain.
I have loads of things I could/should be getting on with, as well as a backlog of books. I suspect the books will win. The 99p Kindle offers are too tempting!
Lamb leg steaks for dinner with mashed potato, carrots and cabbage.
Might stroll round the pub this evening.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/09/2024 10:16

I'm going to make veggie tacos for tea.

Simonjt · 22/09/2024 10:19

Good morning,

We’ve got my mum and brother staying for the week, so they’re being annoyed to death by the kids. Its a bit dull here today so we’re going out for lunch, but we might not venture out much, plus they’re tired from flying over.

PermanentTemporary · 22/09/2024 10:19

Good morning! A lazy start, and now I'm having scrambled eggs and coffee at the table. Off to see our respective parents soon. I'm going to get some graph paper out later and make plans for the vegetable patch next year.

mamaduckbone · 22/09/2024 10:23

Good morning!
It's pouring with rain here so I'm still in my dressing gown - had tea and read my book in bed for an hour this morning which was just what was needed.

We dropped ds1 off at Uni on Friday and I've felt a bit spaced out and emotionally exhausted all weekend. Not as teary and sad as I thought I'd be though as he seemed so happy and excited and he's in such a lovely place (Bath)

Nothing planned today except some school work for me, helping ds2 get a revision timetable sorted this afternoon and a roast for dinner.

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday.

ViciousCurrentBun · 22/09/2024 10:26

I am recovering from being in A&E for 15 hours from late on Friday to yesterday afternoon. I have issues with a scoliosis of the spine and am used to pain sometimes but on Friday both my legs started with numbness and tingling and I had horrendous pain, my bladder was being a bit odd and I even had pain radiating down my arms. I was given an emergency Dr appointment at a walk in centre but he sent me to A&E with suspected cauda equina, it’s a dangerous situation where if left untreated you can end up in a wheelchair for life. I do not have it thankfully but an MRI showed I have degenerative disc disease and coupled with the scoliosis explains my increasing pain levels sometimes over the last couple of years.

This is a big city centre hospital.

In that time, I saw 12 police officers bring in different people, some handcuffed for treatment. One elderly lady with dementia escape, one fight outside, one kid who was chased by security and what was probably their social worker, two people who were very obviously hardcore drug addicts and looked at deaths door, two very drunk people, an incredibly aggressive woman, two lads who had been in a car crash due to their drunken mate, one poor homeless man who had been beaten up just for being homeless. There were plenty of other patients of no note like myself . I ended up in a little section with some great people and we had a little support club. I was triaged very quickly. I had a fab health care assistant, who kept doing my obs for the majority of my visit. The long wait was due to not enough Doctors plus a slot for the MRI.

I feel totally mentally drained, still in pain but it’s subsided.

gingercat02 · 22/09/2024 10:33

Morning @lucysmam
Glad you enjoyed Durham. it's a beautiful city.
We're on our road trip home from the in-laws. Booked a nice restaurant for lunch in Edinburgh, so hopefully, we won't need a big tea. Will be watching the F1 on catch-up when we get home

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 22/09/2024 10:34

Good morning Lucysmam and others. Viciouscurrantbun that all sounds absolutely horrendous. I hope you are feeling a bit better now.
I have got a bloomer proving and a pot of lentil soup in the slow cooker. I'm either making stovies or a pizza for dinner. The kitchen has been tidied and I'm about to do a small ironing before a cuppa. Then a quick polish and hoover. Later I'll visit mum in hospital. Enjoy your day all

Justonedayatatime11 · 22/09/2024 10:43

Good Morning!

I'm still in bed, being very lazy. Took DD to Newmarket open weekend yesterday and overdid it so resting lots today. Just had coffee and eggs on toast. Think DH has gone to make a cup of tea.

Need to go to B&Q and buy a replacement shower head, and M&S to pick up something easy for tea. Craving some nice gluten free snacks but can't find anything that quite hits the spot.

Will pick DD up from her dads later, then homework, showers, methotrexate injection and early nights all round!

PutOnYourRedShoesAndLetsDance · 22/09/2024 10:45

Morning everyone.
Just had my shower and going to dry my hair.. then we are going for our Sunday ride out.
No matter the weather we still enjoy it ... Saltburn and Whitby today.
It's dull but not raining .. so hopefully it won't rain .. then can take sisters dog for a run on the beach.
Finish off with fish and chips.

Andnowshesatoddler · 22/09/2024 10:52

Sat under my mum's blanket listening to her playing with the toddler in the other room can hear them both giggling away. Mum almost died this summer so it's so precious.
Happy Sunday all x

StoatofDisarray · 22/09/2024 10:54

Good morning! It's the autumn equinox so I'm feeling the seasonal vibes. I went to the market earlier and bought a lamb shoulder and just over a kilo of chuck steak. I'm slow roasting the lamb and the chuck is braising very slowly in half a litre of good quality bone broth.

Partner won't be round until late afternoon so I'm chilling listening to music and reading.
