Good morning from my regular kitchen spot. I've put dd2's uniform on to wash & fed the kittens. Don't plan to move for a couple of hours now!

We don't have anything much planned for the day, after walking miles in Durham yesterday, so will probably just potter round straightening up the house. I might list a couple more things on Vinted too.

Dd2's off out with friends for a couple of hours, around mid-day. And dd1 has some college work to finish and submit. I've asked dd1 to start writing a list of things she'll need/want for uni so will encourage her to start that again.

No idea what's for tea - none of us got anything out to defrost last night 🤷‍♀️ so probably something beige, or maybe a salad of some sort.

Tonight it'll be my self-care Sunday scrubby shower, chill with another episode of Sherlock, and then a very early night ready for work tomorrow 😴

What about all of you? 🙂

Hi @lucysmam I always love this thread and hadn't seen it for a while. You have kittens!

Quiet day here today. Going to make an apple crumble, taking DS for an eye test later.

House is clean and tidy as I blitzed it yesterday but I might tackle the laundry pile or I might just read a book...

Happy Sunday @lucysmam and everyone.

I've been lazing this morning, slept in a bit, sorted cats and had granola and berries with coffee for breakfast. I've just started a postgraduate course so have read two chapters of a book on my reading list, I'm trying to get into the habit of reading for study first thing every day.

Dh and I have been looking at houses online, we are debating thr merits of a new build and have an appointment to view a property this afternoon. We're not on the market yet and I'm not sure I can be jeffed with proceeding at this point. The idea of a part ex feels very appealing.

I need to pop to M&S for some flowers and chocs for my mum. It's her birthday tomorrow. I've got to make some tweaks to a presentation for a job interview on Wednesday and tackle the ironing pile.

Dinner is sausage and mash with veg and gravy. Maybe a couple of episodes of TV tonight (I've restarted Manifest after a break, and am on season 3) and a glass of red.

Morning Sunday Crew!

I managed to read yesterday’s thread while I was walking but didn’t manage to post!

Weather is a bit strange here, rainy but warm!
I’m going to get some packing done today, we are off to Portugal next weekend for DHs big birthday. He thinks we are just going with a couple of friends, but I’ve also arranged for some of his family to meet us there and surprise him. They live at the other end of the country from us, so he doesn’t get to see them as much as he’d like. I think he’ll be chuffed!!

Apart from that, house needs a bit of a tidy and dogs needs walking!

Second vote for puppy pictures please @OldTinHat

Have a great day all!!

ViciousCurrentBun · 22/09/2024 11:14

@LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand it was an eye opener that for sure, thanks I’m on bed rest for a day or two but do actually need to walk about as soon as possible.

RabbitsRock · 22/09/2024 11:15

Just remembered I haven’t done my meals list for the week. Like a pp, I’m going to sort out the freezer as it’s getting very full & there must be lots we can eat. Our last freezer broke cos it was too full!

Judellie · 22/09/2024 11:36

I didn't get any tidying done yesterday, went off to buy new walking boots instead so want to try them out a bit today.
I'm trying to sort the bed in the spare room so I've got somewhere to go away from DH's snoring. It's not ideal to sleep there as it's where I wfh but it's better than the snoring! He also puts his clothes there each night for the next day, which will have to stop.
I'm also sort of making our bed, I've only stripped it so far!
Just made DD a brunch of sausage, scrambled egg and toast; she's not been up long and is working later so I'll be taking her there. Have made that my lunch too.
DS went to church and isn't back yet; I won a ticket to Beetlejuice and was vaguely waiting to see if he wants to go and see it this afternoon rather than me delivering DD to work and returning 4 hours later, could just stay aroud the place.
The prize is only for one ticket tho.
DH has been to meet his friend then done a bit of food shopping; he is now painting his model railway track in the garden and will have his lunch with DS.
And DH will be making the Sunday dinner at teatime for us so DD can have it too.

@ViciousCurrentBun that sounds awful! I hope you are feeling a bit better today.
@Autumnweddingguest I've just made apricot crumble for this evening.
We got back from Lidl a couple of hours ago. I got a couple of veg boxes which included a punnet of apricots so when we got back I sorted out all the old veg in the fridge and what was in the veg boxes. Made the basis of a tomato sauce with lots of cherry tomatoes, half a red pepper, a small carrot, an onion, a small stick of celery and loads of garlic. Cooked the apricots for the crumble, made the crumble. There was only an avocado and some radishes that we don't want and one of our neighbours will have those.

So now I've just had lunch and I am knackered so will be going for a rest shortly. That's enough excitement for today!

Late again today!! Happy Sunday one and all.

The morning has just kind of raced away from me.

It was very wet overnight but quite warm and muggy here. Hasn't rained yet so I'm debating whether to take the kids out for a bike ride just to get out for an hour or so.

So far today we've had food shopping delivered and I've done baths for x2 DC, batch cooked my tomato sauce (use it for meatballs, over chicken breast or just with pasta itself), been out to actual shops as some of the lunch stuff for the week was missing, done everyone's lunch. Kids are half way through homework and have cleaned their rooms, including doing the hoovering!

Still have a wash to unload and a pile of ironing to tackle.

Dinner will be roast chicken, sweet potato mash, broccoli, green beans and carrots.

Kids will have a film later and I'll watch an episode of Dexter after they are in bed.
