Maybe Sunday night too.
I haven't had a holiday all year and this is my only opportunity.
I drive but don't fancy driving abroad. I like sea, drinking, smoking ( only on holiday) and heat.
Just me.
Looked at Nice because that's super easy. Flights still cheap but accommodation is still high season pricey where I want to be. Fancied Seville but that's stupid money.

And where quick and easy to go that one can think of please?

Where from?

Shinydoor · 20/09/2024 23:23

Valencia

MooFroo · 20/09/2024 23:27

Go to Skyscanner and type in your local airports and search Everywhere - see what’s comes up!

Good luck and have fun!

murasaki · 20/09/2024 23:29

Budapest. Prague. Bratislava.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 20/09/2024 23:30

My DD and friends are in Tenerife because it’s warm and cheap!

If you want sea, the canary Islands? I did air bnb with separate flights.

Bulgaria is also pretty cheap, don't go to sunny beach but near Varna is nice. On the Black Sea.

AndThereSheGoes · 20/09/2024 23:48

Thank you. Good call with sky scanner.

I thought the Canaries are a bit far with my limited time but will look.
Done Valencia a few times ( not that keen).

Sounds great.....You're not going on your own cause I'm going with you 😁

TheFlis · 20/09/2024 23:52

Seville. Still hot and tiny airport so really quick to get through. Small city so you can walk everywhere.

FloatyBoaty · 20/09/2024 23:54

Sardinia! It’s so beautiful and so few Brits there comparative to other Mediterranean places. (though flights not always the easiest). Fly into Cagliari if poss.

Algarve. I like Lagos for surf town vibes.

Any of the Greek islands.

Granada
Lisbon
Palma Majorca

DoThePropeller · 20/09/2024 23:56

I’d look at Lisbon. Cheap when you get there and we got a great deal on an Air BnB:

Nat6999 · 20/09/2024 23:56

Ds has just been to Croatia, the Dalmatian Coast on Brac Island, it looked lovely, had a couple of days rain, but the rest of the week was warm & sunny.

RockGirl · 21/09/2024 01:16

Gibraltar

PhoebeMcPeePee · 21/09/2024 01:23

Alicante is fab - small city very walkable, marina, beach, old town with lots of lovely bars & restaurants, beautiful medieval castle - we were very pleasantly surprised as my only view of Alicante was Benidorm! It's a 20 min cheap bus ride from the airport plus flights are cheap & frequent. If it's warm enough to sunbathe you'll be grand for 4-5 days otherwise it's a 2 day city stop.

RogueFemale · 21/09/2024 01:27

Greece is perfect. I like sea, drinking and smoking too. And not driving.
Almost anywhere in Greece is great.

Nice is amazing! Always stay in an Airbnb as much cheaper than hotels and there is some amazing options.
Train and bus travel is cheap, and some fantastic medieval villages/towns along the coast and into the hills.
It's friendly and pretty much everyone speaks English if required. Fabulous food, flower and broccante-type markets

Budapest. Prague. Bratislava.

Not with the flooding there's been there!

MidLifeXrisis · 21/09/2024 02:37

Menorca, Ibiza, Costa del Sol

I've just got back from Valencia. Are you not keen because you've already been a few times or for some other reason? I love it. Much nicer than Barcelona. I would always stay centrally for the best experience.

katscamel · 21/09/2024 05:11

Cyprus - but away from the Aiya Napa scene, Larnaca might work, Malta? Turkey - wnd of season so shouldn't be too busy now, Morocco?

notatinydancer · 21/09/2024 05:25

Malaga ?

DifficultBloodyWoman · 21/09/2024 05:31

Nice is a short hop and has good transport links up and down the coast so no need for driving. It would be easy to go a little further out and find cheaper accommodation. Lots to see and do in the larger area and, as it is France, few people will be get judgy if you smoke.
