What's the verdict, Omaze entrants?

It's another glass house, and looks very similar to previous ones - I'm not keen, so am still hanging my hopes on the Yorkshire one. Also, this maybe a daft question, but what happens to all that outside furniture when it rains? There is a lot of it, and if you have to rush out with covers for it all it would be a pain.

I'd happily accept it if I won, but am pretty sure I'd sell it immediately after a nice long holiday.

Looks a bit bland for me. Still gutted I didn’t win the last London house. I’d planed my route to work, kids schools and everything 🤣

I love the fantasy element 😀. I mentally arrange the furniture and decide who's going to sleep where etc, even when I'm not keen on the house. I'm still hoping for the Yorkshire one this month.

I really like it. I don’t like the Yorkshire one at all, but this one….not so big and soulless (see Cheshire one, now up on the market again), but not twee either. The interior is gorgeous - all my favourite colours, plus a pool. I’m in! Also, has anyone else noticed they tend to do a few smaller ones (£2m) after a couple of £4.5m + ones….?

TwinklyLightsAllNight · 20/09/2024 08:30

Completely devoid of character.

TwinklyLightsAllNight · 20/09/2024 08:32

Ong the Yorkshire one is absolutely gorgeous.

Might buy a ticket for that!

RainintheDesert · 20/09/2024 15:27

It's a bit meh 😑. The furniture is very IKEA looking.

Yes, I can't get enthusiastic about it at all.

Is there a catch? I’ve never entered. But oh that Yorkshire house!

ManchesterRoad · 20/09/2024 16:08

Absolutely loved the Yorkshire house!

YaCannyKickYaGrannyInTheShin · 20/09/2024 16:13

I'd love to know how much Omaze are making out of these threads, as there's been at least 1 or 2 threads for every draw so far. There was a different one last night about this latest house.

I know you can enter for free, but they heavily advertise the monthly subscription.

The best Omaze house (the most quirky) was a massive modern one in North Norfolk…

Totally agree! Bliss Blakeney. I still feel sad I didn’t win it!

Runskiyoga · 20/09/2024 16:42

I just wanted to win the Buzz camper van 😔 gutted

They put the same style furniture in all of the houses. They just change the colour scheme

Oh gosh. I'm dreadfully sorry but I'm getting the Yorkshire one. I've even booked some friends in for a weekend and they've picked their room. 😔 You can have a tour if you like though?

ratherbesurfing · 20/09/2024 16:55

Where is it in Devon? I can’t get the location to come up

Exmouth. I've not seen it listed prior to Omaze, so I don't know the history of it.

ratherbesurfing · 20/09/2024 16:57

Oh no then, wrong bit of Devon for me. It’s all yours!

TwinklyLightsAllNight · 20/09/2024 17:40

How much do you think it would be to live in the Yorkshire house monthly?

It's gorgeous but I don't know if I could afford to even run it!

CautiousLurker · 20/09/2024 18:59

Had to come on and see if I was alone in my response to this new Devon house - the replies on the FB page are soooo gushing (as though being nice there might curry favour 🤦🏽‍♀️). I think this one is one of the worst - lego boxy with a nice enough view but really nothing special. The interior could be achieved in any house anywhere - new bland kitchen, floors etc are all a matter of interior decoration and are nice enough, but it is just so ‘meh’.

I’d much much rather live in the Yorkshire property and find a way to make the acreage/stables pay for themselves. It’s such a lovely building with beautiful, period interiors and space to build an orangery/pool to one side if you had an inclination. It’s not that the new one is modern, as I loved the last one with the coastal views and the London glass house… it’s just, well, really nothing special.

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 20/09/2024 19:00

What’s wrong with this one?

MouseofCommons · 20/09/2024 19:05

Why won't it sell?
Access issues, mains energy problems? Erosion? Or stupidly over priced when on the market?

CautiousLurker · 20/09/2024 19:10

Thought I’d stated it really: it’s just bland architecturally. A flat-roofed boxy construction with windows on one side that, basically make it look like a large converted bunker. My kids built more imaginative and striking buildings with the Friends Lego and PlayMobile. The interior is anaemically beige. And only three bedrooms? No room for guests and bedrooms 2 and 3 are tiny! 3x4m means just enough room to shimmy past a double bed, esp once you have wardrobes/dressers in - fine in a suburban semi, but a £2.5m house?

I think this one is awful.

pyjamalife · 20/09/2024 19:14

Tbh the worse bit for me if the fantasy planning, because I'll never win any lottery super prize and I know it, so it's super disappointing to come down from an imagined high.

pyjamalife · 20/09/2024 19:15

Meant to say, so I have the monthly charge and don't even look at the houses 😅
