Yes it's ongoing issue wake up in the early hours so I tend to while away time on MN.

existentialannie · 19/09/2024 03:20

urgh. yes ☹️

Stressedgiraffe · 19/09/2024 03:22

I'm half watching SEAL team on my tablet. It's the worst. If I was at home I'd get at least another hour before the cats go nuts.

Yep, went to bed at 12, partner snoring woke me up at 12.45. Been wide awake ever since. This happens most nights 😒

Stressedgiraffe · 19/09/2024 03:26

@devuskums I use ear plugs it muffles sounds, do you use them? Though dh snores so loud were now in separate rooms

PiggieWig · 19/09/2024 03:29

Yep. I was late to sleep then my cat woke me up. He’s not supposed to be out at night but must have snuck out and thought better of it now. Meowing his head off to be let in! He’s now fast asleep on my bed and I’m here.

Livinginaclock · 19/09/2024 03:31

Yep, I'm on an overnight night bus to London.

LauderSyme · 19/09/2024 03:34

Yes, with a headache and hot flushes. Teenage ds couldn't sleep so naturally hasn't allowed me to either 😒

Stressedgiraffe · 19/09/2024 03:35

@Livinginaclock not fun. How long are you in London for? Is it work or pleasure?

My longest bus journey was 30 hours but I was in my 20s and we travelled through 7 countries. It was hell at the time but I now look fondly at it

Livinginaclock · 19/09/2024 03:40

Oh god, 30 hours sounds awful.
This is just 8, I'm going to have fun fir a week, starting with seeing Moby tomorrow night.
I absolutely love London, 6th time I've been down this year.

Stressedgiraffe · 19/09/2024 03:47

I went from Czech Republic to Greece. Via lots of countries. Took loads of food. Pre smartphone.
Are you coming down from Scotland?

I'm away for work and always wake up early when I'm an uncomfortable bed. I'm normally up at 5am anyway but 3:30am is a little bit early even for me!

Stressedgiraffe · 19/09/2024 04:05

@Holidays78 me too! How long are you away for?

I'm awake. Had surgery on Tuesday . Big toe fusion. It's bloody killing me ! Going to have to try and get some stronger painkillers tomorrow

Stressedgiraffe · 19/09/2024 04:12

@BrummieCahoots that sounds painful!

OP posts:
BrummieCahoots · 19/09/2024 04:17

@Stressedgiraffe . I think I underestimated how painful it would be !

Hannahandlucy · 19/09/2024 04:21

I'm awake.. woke up drenched in sweat, had to change sheets and pyjamas etc. only 41 so now frantically googling peri menopause or if it's anything more sinister. Has been happening quite regularly.

Gorgonemilezola · 19/09/2024 04:25

Wide awake - had a restless few hours sleep then a short bout of indigestion. We eat way too late and my sleep pattern has become worse as I get older. I would love a solid 6-7 hours a night.

But my toe isn't painful and I'm not on a long overnight bus journey so it could be worse 😁

Why do the hours seem twice as long when you can't sleep?

vodkaredbullgirl · 19/09/2024 04:26

Night shift, only 4 hours to go.

Tootyfilou · 19/09/2024 04:30

I am awake. My darling dog is having his leg amputated tomorrow, I am so worried about him.

Stressedgiraffe · 19/09/2024 04:33

Just repainted my nails and had a shower. Now to dry hair. I like it how a premier inn has a hairdryer.

Stressedgiraffe · 19/09/2024 04:34

I'm so sorry about your dog.

NOTANUM · 19/09/2024 04:34

@Livinginaclock It sounds like you’ve got the London bug and need to come join us Londoners.
@Tootyfilou oh no! What caused that?

I’ve had a busy work week with no exercise or let up, so I’m on my knees. As a result, I’m waiting at 4am every morning. Go figure.

Tootyfilou · 19/09/2024 04:42

He had a bone biopsy as we were thinking of stem cell treatment for his osteoarthritis. Unfortunately the biopsy site became infected. He is currently an inpatient at Langford Veterinary Hospital. They cannot get on top of the infection so amputation is our only choice. He is the sweetest dog you can imagine and so active, absolutely lives for his walks and activities, its so sad. I love him beyond words.

Tootyfilou · 19/09/2024 04:43

I have to get up in an hour to go to work.
