Perhaps the Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire needs his freebies because MPs aren’t paid enough. Or perhaps he’s just the knight commander of the most astonishing hypocrisy.

Very few famous people pay their own way. You think Beckham paid for his tickets to watch Birmingham FC?

He’s not PM is he?

You are correct.

I Should have said he should pay his own way like the WORKING PEOPLE he purports to represent.

It was a refurb and the wallpaper was left behind when Boris left, so hardly the same as Keir Starmer's personal gifts.

I think it was painted over by either the lettuce or Sunak. What a waste!

But that doesn't excuse Starmer. He needs to have a rethink and maybe change the rules for everyone. Even Ed Davey has admitted being given clothing. It is ridiculous.

All the gear Keir. Loves his free shit.

His wife has the nickname Victoria Sponger. He is Starmer the granny harmer.

LizzieSiddal · 19/09/2024 15:02

It’s absolutely nothing in comparison to the likes of John and May. And he’s declared it so is being transparent(unlike Johnson).

I really don’t care as long as the PM tries to fix the shit show that our country is after 14 years of Tory mismanagement.

Harvestfestivalknickers · 19/09/2024 15:02

I wonder how long we have to endure responses containing the words 'whatabout' and 'Tories' to any criticism of the present Government. Is there a time limit? When do we start judging the Government on its own merit?

This is why you need people with money in power. Those with a massive chip on their shoulder just want to fill their pockets with free shit. Imagine getting your glasses paid for.

TealTraybake · 19/09/2024 15:03

Victoria Sponger 😂😂

Poor woman. I expect she asked for non of this. Although she did change jobs from lawyer to low paid NHS worker. That could have been part of the plan.

I don't disagree with that. But Arsenal shouldn't charge stupid money for those sorts of tickets. A PM can't go in the stands.

So who is to blame for the current state of the Country then? Please enlighten me, I'm bored, maybe you could entertain me with your answer.

Julen7 · 19/09/2024 15:14

It’s always possible Labour can turn it into even more of a shit show, they are having a good enough stab at it

Oh they will. PM Brian Badonde Stamer hasn't read the room well at all.

At what point do you notice the new people in power and hold them accountable?

Not as soon as this, that's for sure.

TeenagersAngst · 19/09/2024 15:23

I watched a chat show the other day and there was a left wing pundit and a right wing pundit. The left wing pundit was defending KS to the hilt, but you just know that if this same story had been released about a Tory, they'd be ripping them to shreds.

They're all such awful hypocrites. No wonder there was such low turnout at the GE.

JoyousPinkPeer · 19/09/2024 15:26

Saschka · 19/09/2024 13:11

I don’t think Angela Rayner would either.

No, she's using the thousands she saved on fiddling the CGT. Wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her!

luckylavender · 19/09/2024 15:27

And yet. The first time the PM or his wife turned up with a hair out of place they'd get slaughtered. Remember Corbyn at Rembrance Sunday. So they can't win. The media demands perfection, designer. Only Johnson could get away by dressing like Worsel Gummidge.

I think you are right - the air of superiority is breathtaking.

SonicTheHodgeheg · 19/09/2024 15:30

Apologies if this has been answered but I would expect the PM/Leader of the Opposition in an election year to get the most gifts. How does 100k compare to previous PMs?
This looks like the usual sleazy politician story and very disappointing.

I reckon they will try to squeeze a couple of years from it.

ZwarteZwaan · 19/09/2024 15:32

I'm afraid I'm a little bit desensitised as to what shocks me after the last decade plus.

hahaha well that’s a good thing because you can be prepared for more hypocrisy and corruption from Labour. The only difference being they pretend to be for the people and the working classes when they’re anything but.

Harvestfestivalknickers · 19/09/2024 15:35

LadyKenya · 19/09/2024 15:21

I do.

So far Labour have been less shit than the Tories. Not a ringing endorsement.

regementaria · 19/09/2024 15:37

I honestly don’t have an issue with our PRIME MINISTER correctly declaring gifts. Running a country has its benefits

do you think the Cambridges buy their own football tickets or Kate pays for her own dresses??

this really isn’t sleaze

these are normal freebies chucked at the powerful and influential

and as PM he is rightfully declaring it

the silence is deafening because this really isn’t an issue
