I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility that someone high profile has attempts made on their life. Perhaps the publishing of this one and the ‘swift resolution’ of it was to somehow make up for the failure of the security services at the rally where he was shot.

I don’t like Trump at all but I won’t sit here being gleeful that someone tried to kill him.

Hitler committed suicide.

Oh I thought someone got to him in the end. Well my point still stands, we're not sad about that are we? And we do talk ill of the dead in his case dont we?

Trump is losing it...He said the White House would ''Smell like curry'' if Harris won. {Edit..it was his Aide}
Plus immigrants eating cats and dogs?

DreamTheMoors · 15/09/2024 22:23

Must not have been too urgent.
According to NBC News, “Trump left the golf course in his motorcade a couple of hours later and headed back to his Mar-a-Laga resort a source familiar with the matter said.”

I do think he's losing it. He's looking really old as well and tired.

It was Laura Loomer.

He's a father and a grandfather and for that reason alone he doesn't deserve to be shot. That said if someone were to succeed it would be Armageddon in America.

Seriously?
You sound as nutty as Donald.

Agree. America has a lot of suck people and a lot of guns and therefore a lot of suck people with guns. This story isn’t hard to believe, press conference sounds like the police either haven’t done a great job or there’s a bit more to it (conveniently buries debate story)… I honestly think it’s 50:50 but I’m glad he wasn’t shot.

Sick not suck oops!!

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 15/09/2024 22:29

They're not very good, are they? Confused

Because I don't wish someone dead? That's a low bar.

If they wanted to kill him, they would. Twice missed is obviously either terror warnings from his opposition or staged drama by his team or some crazy drunk people who have no idea what they're doing with their fingers let alone a gun. I doubt the last one. The first two are very possible - even likely.

notanothernamechange24 · 15/09/2024 22:31

Shot at twice in to months 🤔

First time round he somehow manages to come out looking like a hero -at least to his deluded followers- and his poll ratings sore.

His ratings dropped after the debate and again after Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris.

I can see why staging something could be appealing to a certain individual.

Nothing he does surprises me now.

Equally it could be real I guess. But twice in two months? When was the last time a US presidential candidate shot at?

Because I don't wish someone dead? That's a low bar.

There's a fine line between thinking the world would be much better without someone and he wouldn't be missed and it would be a good think if they died.

I think the world would be vastly better without him but wouldn't wish him killed because of the damage it would do to others

TheCultureHusks · 15/09/2024 22:33

Why do I get the feeling he’s going to step down? 😵‍💫

I think we need to listen to the reasons why a man like Trump is so popular. What isn't being dealt with in the political arena that has led to a walking ego with not a lot going on between his ears becoming so popular? It's not scary that he's had attempted assassinations, it is scary that a man like him can become so popular.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 15/09/2024 22:37

They shoot children, why not
Trump?

citylightsbehind · 15/09/2024 22:38

The most recent reporting is that the only shots fired were by the secret service at a suspicious person with a gun.

Meadowfinch · 15/09/2024 22:39

Either way, someone else in the FBI will be retiring. 😂

notanothernamechange24 · 15/09/2024 22:39

@OneFastCat I wasn't aware I was being 🙄

TheWinterWillWash · 15/09/2024 22:39

Do political violence isn’t a problem for some of you - as long as you don’t like the person attacked?

If he didn't have children and grandchildren would he deserve to be shot?

Nowordsformethanks · 15/09/2024 22:40

He's popular because he's not PC. He says and does what nobody else says/does or what only a few would. Shock value or drama sells and draws people in, especially those who have the same views but had no mainstream outlet before.

After watching house of cards then no comment to any theories other than rest in peace
