I would imagine he feels validated and victimised and therefore more powerful because look at what effect he is having on people they want to shoot me because I speak the trooth.

Pretty awful. Don't want anyone to be shot at. But he doesn't care that his insane speeches and social media stuff get other people attacked, so it's hard to muster much sympathy.

It's very convenient timing. No more talk about the debate now. No one should put anything past this man.

I find it very hard to believe to be honest - one assassination attempt was unlikely, but TWO that just happen to be in the run up to the election... and this second attempt is just after he had an awful debate with his opponent, he's slightly behind in the polls, and he's been sounding crazy in the news with all these weird accusations.

Oh and both times he was lucky enough that the shooter missed?

Something really doesn't feel right. I'm sure we'll never find out officially, but I wouldn't put it past him or his campaign team to have staged at least this second one...

Press conference saying that it was a secret service agent spotted a man with a rifle in the bushes and 'engaged with' ie: shot at the suspect.
Trump was 1-2 holes behind on the course. The secret service goes ahead and checks the area.
So the shots fired was secret service to suspect. Suspect got away by car but they think they caught the right guy and gave him in custody.

Going to be interesting to hear the "truth" behind this

He's a father and a grandfather and for that reason alone he doesn't deserve to be shot. That said if someone were to succeed it would be Armageddon in America.

It sounds like they've "got" someone who no doubt will be the "wrong person" and they will mysteriously never find the actual person.

I think the Trumpists would take to the streets and things would really get crazy if he was assassinated.

Other reports are saying that the FBI says it "appears to be" and assassination attempt. Interesting that they are being so circumspect.

And as for wanting him dead, no I dont believe in the death penalty for example so technically I wouldnt 'want' someone dead.

Yes I know someone will say Trump wasnt a mass murderer and didnt commit genocide but his words and actions have really been quite incendiary and dangerous. Its a fine line isnt it.

Agree. America has a lot of suck people and a lot of guns and therefore a lot of suck people with guns. This story isn’t hard to believe, press conference sounds like the police either haven’t done a great job or there’s a bit more to it (conveniently buries debate story)… I honestly think it’s 50:50 but I’m glad he wasn’t shot.
