A work party that is, so feel it needs to be semi PG...

Mrs Doubtfire. Jack Sparrow. Dorothy Wizard Of Oz. Cyndi Louhoo... How much effort do you want to put in?

Piemam · 15/09/2024 20:07

Bruce Willis, Die Hard, white vest etc. Or non-Christmas, probably Harry Potter teacher, cape and robes etc. How comfortable are you in fancy dress?

xsquared · 15/09/2024 20:07

Depends. What sort of thing are you into? Do you want to look sexy, classy or fun?

JC03745 · 15/09/2024 20:08

what does semi PG mean OP?

I personally prefer a costume where my face remains 'normal' and not covered in green paint etc. Do you already have anything at home which could be used?
A halloween dress could be Morticia
If you a bobbed wig and had a flapper type dress, you could go as any character from a 20's/30's film like Thoroughly Modern Millie.

I think more fun or classy!

As it is a work do and I'm new in the door

Bridget Jones Diary.
Dressing gown, slipper boots, messy hair and a book. Got me through so many work "fun" evenings.

-Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction
-Barbie
-Lydia from Beetlejuice for a gothic vibe
-Holly Golightly

Tooty78 · 15/09/2024 20:15

Cruella de Ville.

JennaRink · 15/09/2024 20:17

@DrLucyVanPelt I'm just about to watch Beetlejuice for the first time!

Can't go far wrong with a cape or gown for someone from Harry Potter.

I love the fashion from Peaky Blinders so how about coming as one in a 3 piece suit and a Baker boy hat? You could of course stick to the women's fashion and come in a flapper dress as Ada Shelby or even someone from Downton Abbey.

Cat Woman is an easy one to do and undo.

JennaRink · 15/09/2024 20:20

@xsquared I've actually went as Aunt Polly before when she dressed more as one is the blokes, gun and all that. Lots of fun!

I still have the gear so if I don't think of anything else...

Someone said years ago I would make.a good Rita Skeeter (Harry Potter!)

I absolutely loathe fancy dress . No way
would I do it for a work party . I really admire your enthusiasm. How about The Mask ?
