Yes we can, they're called women

Not all women are nice or kind.

That includes professionally and privately.

Your post has stirred up things I rather forget.

We were just chatting about this as there's a Ch4 programme with him and Judi Dench looking super pally which is not going to look good now....

Of course it looks good. Coercive abusers are great at looking good to outsiders.

That C4 programme should be a wake-up call to us all.

Women tend not to be physically or sexually dangerous though. **

I don't know, seeing my DD bullied and ostracised by groups of girls and their mums gives me pause for thought. I've had some bad workplace experiences too.
The sisterhood seems to exist for those whose face fits.
Not that I'm saying men are any better, they're not.

I think sisterhood belongs to those who assimilate into the pack. If you don’t that means you have a brain to think for yourself. Seen it in girls school, & the nhs.

Yellowshirt · 13/09/2024 23:58

Its West Mercia Police involved so I very much doubt they will get a conviction.
My Ex wife got away with Financial and domestic abuse along with coercive control.

@Bulkypeepants DH and I are CORPSING over your username. That fucking advert 😂

WB205020 · 14/09/2024 00:05

@user47 If you genuinely think MN is a women’s forum then you are very much mistaken. It’s for parents and always has been. Sure the word mum is in the name but the founders have said that’s because ‘parentsnet’ wasn’t catchy enough. It was never designed to be just for women.

Fishgish · 14/09/2024 00:24

He seems to me as a guy dressed up fake “dapper mature gent” - a man who doesn’t exist in real life and he’s clearly playing a character role. So, in reality he is probably is the despicable man.

It kinda is though, as they have employed him and put him on the tv. The BBC needs to have a look at its recruitment procedures. Quite a few men with undesirable characteristics getting on the TV!

it’s been a bad few months for the BBC. Dancers kicking women, presenters sending dick pics, hideous child abuse photos being solicited, and now this. What does it say about the toxic make culture there, maybe?

You don't use MN much then? Women on here are utterly abusive and horrible too.

Jon Bon Jovi talked a woman off a bridge the other day. I don’t know if he’s faithful to his wife but he seems pretty decent.

He isn’t. There’s a Dave Grohl thread at the moment that is shattering many illusions

Oh of course some women are. But take the last few days for example. We've had Jay Blades and Dave Grohl, a Swiss man who killed his wife then put her remains in a blender, the horrific mass rape case in France, a sportswoman in Uganda set on fire by her ex, the boss of Abercrombie accused of sexual harassment, not to mention the wars, terrorism and extremism which is generally perpetrated by men. Yes my original post might not be the most eloquent thing ever said, but come on, stop burying your heads in the sand.

And for anyone I've triggered (I suspect mostly men), NAMALT blah blah blah

How do you propose they weed out men who are (allegedly) abusive towards their partners? It simply isn't possible. The same goes for the other stuff really, although as the recent stuff was done "on company time" it is their problem.

choccytime · 14/09/2024 18:55

I always thought he looked as if he was putting on a bit of an act being all nice on the repair shop . The experts who mend the stuff seem genuinely lovely

Well given that several people raised concerns on Strictly, the corporation was aware of the charges against the newscaster and the dick pic was to a colleague, it wouldn’t take Sherlock Holmes to wheedle it out.

The difficulties the BBC is having was discussed on Newsnight on Thursday.

what do those things have to do with Jay Blades and spotting domestic abuse?

MyDadWasAnArse · 05/08/2025 11:20

He's been charged with two counts of rape.

Summerhillsquare · 05/08/2025 13:54

Good grief, they're everywhere, aren't they?

PommieBear · 05/08/2025 14:04

It's true. He has been charged with 2 rapes and will be sentences duely. What do you even mean 'if true?' He has been charged

PommieBear · 05/08/2025 14:06

Notmynamerightnow · 13/09/2024 21:01

This thread was originally started in Sept 2024 when the first allegations arose.

Charged does not mean found guilty, there is still a trial to go. And we all know the % of convictions in cases like this … pitiful numbers.
