What's for dinner tonight? Takeaway, out or cooking?

Happy Friday!

I'm making DIY egg fried rice with whatever is left in the fridge chucked in.

House to myself which is a treat, so trying to resist the very strong urge to get a takeaway for one.. as I have no self control and eyes bigger than my stomach!

What's everyone having? I need to be inspired for tomorrow..!

HM Chinese chicken meatballs, with bottom-of-the-fridge veg stir-fried with noodles.

UnravellingTheWorld · 13/09/2024 18:03

Hunter's chicken burger plus waffles and veg. Plus I had nachos for lunch. Lots of cheese today 🥴

MissMarplesNiece · 13/09/2024 18:04

Homemade chickpea & veg curry with rice.

I don't think mixed spice and cheese would be a pleasant combination

Have you never had a slice of cheese with fruit cake? Or with apple pie? I think it's a great combination!

Anyway - the poster is having her spicy cake after her macaroni cheese.

Takeaway curry for us tonight - although we do our own rice .

Fleur240 · 13/09/2024 18:07

Chippy 😋

CrushingOnRubies · 13/09/2024 18:13

Takeaway but can't decide what type .

crostini · 13/09/2024 18:13

Friday so we had a hot dog party for the kids. Which just means that we eat hot dogs.

Sgtmajormummy · 13/09/2024 18:18

I bought my first ever jar of tahini the other day and made the mistake of tasting it straight from the jar…yak!

Today DD took a container of homemade hummus to a video sesh with her friends as she’d already been asked to take guacamole and tortilla chips. We’ll have the rest with hamburgers and a salad.
Tomorrow baba ganoush.

Coconutter24 · 13/09/2024 18:21

Beef boogie (bourguignon), mash, green beans, broccoli and peas

tedgran · 13/09/2024 18:22

Lamb casserole out of the freezer with rice and petit pois.

Teenytinycarlady · 13/09/2024 18:28

Wine, edamame & belvita choc hazelnut soft bakes

muddlingthrou · 13/09/2024 18:29

I put a massaman curry in the slow cooker this morning, so that's been bubbling away all day 😋 will hopefully be melt in the mouth brisket, shallots and potatoes by now. Just have to get the 2yo off to sleep then chowing down. I'm 33 weeks pregnant, so proud of myself for being so organised!

Ilovelurchers · 13/09/2024 18:30

We were going to have chicken kievs and chips out of the freezer, but we are both a bit under the weather and can't even be arsed to cook that, so we'll probably just have some toast and nice cheese.

Tomorrow my daughter is home and can help me cook/cook for us (she's amazing) so I've defrosted chicken for fajitas - might get some avocados to make guacamole too.

gardenmusic · 13/09/2024 18:37

Yellow and orange peppers split lengthways stuffed with Firecracker rice, sweetcorn, peas, spring onions and tuna with grated cheese on top. 15 mins in oven. Had them with salad leaves. Lots of the rice mix left, so served it with the salad.

AdoraBell · 13/09/2024 18:40

I used to have bolognaise in the freezer.

Motheranddaughter · 13/09/2024 18:41

Made chilli last night
Will be having with rice

Combattingthemoaners · 13/09/2024 18:42

Feeling like a shit wife reading the amazing things you lot knock up on a Friday night!

Thudercatsrule · 13/09/2024 18:43

Pizza Hut!

MyBestFriendKenny · 13/09/2024 18:44

Sausages, cheesy mash, broccoli and maybe some mushrooms. Fussy DD will probably just have mash and a couple of slices of ham.

SweatySpaghetti · 13/09/2024 18:44

I haven’t had a takeaway in months but tonight dh and ds7 have planned to have a later dinner of homemade burgers and chips with a movie night (captain underpants)
I’m not a huge fan of burgers but will eat it, but DH surprised me and told me he ordered an Indian takeaway for me (which he’s not a fan of but knows I love) because he knows I don’t really like burgers and I’m not feeling 100%
He chose a chicken tikka biryani with a cheese naan and a can of Pepsi max. Absolutely Delicious 👌

Don’t worry, I had a fridge forage for supper - Cornish cruncher cheese, matzo crackers, tomato and olives with mayo 🤷🏼‍♀️

pasta belongs GIF

Nduja pasta with chorizo, olives and peccorino here. One of my fave meals.

Haha, I was meaning a vision of the ginger/mixed spice in the mac and cheese, like an autumnal mac n cheese creation, when I first read it! 🤷🏼‍♀️ I got that it was a dessert when I completed reading it.
Can't beat a good curry, enjoy!

Crunchymum · 13/09/2024 18:55

Breaded chicken, balsamic new potatoes and homemade coleslaw.

Cardamomandlemons · 13/09/2024 18:56

Boneless chicken thighs with green beans and brown rice. So easy and the kids love it. With cardamom and lemon (natch!), cumin, allspice, cinnamon, paprika, coriander, salt and pepper.
