Big cats (panthera) roar, little cats (felinae) purr.

Cheetahs can’t purr, so they are actually very large little cats.

I find this fact unbelievably cute.

Cheetahs don't purr? I distinctly recall reading somewhere online that they DO purr,I even saw a video on YouTube with a guy who had 2 pet cheetahs he'd raised from cubs and they were purring!

I read the original post as “cheetahs can’t roar” - pp’s slip. Her post doesn’t make sense otherwise.

That Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) was bassist with the Housemartins .....

Everyone knows that!

TomatoSandwiches · 14/09/2024 19:01

Apparently there are no known blind people that suffer from schizophrenia.
Scientists believe that being blind can be a protective quality against developing or being schizophrenic, they are not sure why though.

Is that like when half the planet are convinced walkers swapped cheese and onion and salt and vinegar colour packets over?

That came about because golden wonder had their cheese and onion/salt and vinegar blue/green opposite to walkers

I know. It was just a massive thing that happened to a huge amount of people at once. Still people are convinced walkers are lying.

Annie in Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal is actually based on the CPR dummy. Apparently, MJ was learning CPR training around the time he wrote the song.

And the CPR dummy was named Annie after an unknown young woman's body was found in the River Seine in the late 1800's. It was common for a death mask to be made of unidentified bodies and put on display in the hope someone would recognise the person. The young woman's death mask become famous in France for its beauty. When the CPR dummy was invented around the 1950's/60's the inventor remembered this story and named it after the woman who was found in the Seine. CPR dummies are usually referred to as Annie.

Edited

Now I think about it, the dummy used at the college I attended in the 80s was called Resusci-Annie!

You cannot have gout if you have MS and vice versa.

Why?

coldcallerbaiter · 14/09/2024 19:35

Puzzlemad · 14/09/2024 19:33

Why?

Something to do with high serum uric acid

Well who looks at a pig and wants to know their orgasms?

gamerchick · 14/09/2024 19:39

In poltergeist the pool scene with the bodies were real bodies and not dummies. Poor bugger didn't find out until years later.

You can be fined for stroking a penguin in the Falklands.

I'm from the north-east and had never set eyes on a bag of Walker's till the mid 90s. We had KP and Tudor crisps, with blue S&V packs and green C&O packs. Walker's were indeed the wrong way round.

So all these other brands were right! Walkers should apologise.

The exterior surface of a dog's nose, is covered in a textured pattern of ridges and bumps and these patterns are as varied and individual as human fingerprints.

Meredith Grays mother ( Ellis Grey) in grays anatomy is played by Kate Burton who is the real life daughter of Richard Burton and her real life daughter is Charlotte Ritchie ( from Ghosts)
