Who is the most famous person alive today?

virgocatlover · 11/09/2024 18:22

As in, well known world wide by face or name.

I would say the Queen was up there when she was alive but not sure Charles would make the top 10 now.

Trump, Putin or Elon Musk perhaps?

Obviously there are many famous Hollywood actors and singers but are any the most famous worldwide where English isn't the first language?

Have you heard of Shah Rukh Khan?
Because he's got over 3bn fans around the world.

I've never heard of him. But also wouldn't recognise Paul McCartney, and wouldn't be able to tell the Kardashians apart, so I clearly live under a rock!

Is he still going! I remember my friends at school being into him in the 90s, and he wasn’t young then!

According to Alexa the answer is Alan Titchmarsh 🤣

I've just asked her and she said laurence llewelyn-bowen. Asked her to try again and she came back with Alan Titchmarsh too. That's it sorted then!

Maybe, is he the one that did the Bollywood film with the thriller parody?

I think she's being skewed by the Dave Grohl thing...

Only 58 apparently.

DC(7) says it's Mario 😂

Your ds is smart! That's a genius answer Grin

PreciousMahoney · 11/09/2024 19:57

I know I'm off on a tangent but I remember my boss telling me about travelling round the world and they were approaching a really out of the way village in Tibet, the villagers were very upset and told him Elvis had died.

If it was dead people Elvis would be up there🤣

Didn't he write books? If he did that makes sense in some way if they were translated and distributed worldwide.

Maybe not the most famous. But certainly could be international!

Backtoblack1 · 11/09/2024 19:59

Has to be Trump

Jackie Chan has to be up there as one of the most famous living Chinese men surely?

I reckon I would know that someone was a Kardashian, but not necessarily which one.

Uricon2 · 11/09/2024 20:04

There was a thing on the news today about Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala Harris and I had to smile when they mentioned her 283 million followers. Many more will have heard of her. So I'm going with her.

Justwondering36 · 11/09/2024 20:06

I was thinking Harrison Ford. He has 2 big film franchises with recent (ish) film releases so he’s be known to young and old but apparently neither Star Wars nor Indiana Jones are popular in China.

Daniel Craig because of his James Bond role must have been pretty high up the list a few years ago.

Trump I'd say. He is an odious man.

Inclined to agree with you.

Whether you like him or not, he provides bizarre “entertainment” that I would imagine captures attention, especially as a great many people regard him as very … dangerous.

If he speaks, he’s on the news.

Therefore - famous - or infamous!

I bet you he would. US foreign policy affects everyone to a greater or lesser degree.

coxesorangepippin · 11/09/2024 20:10

Trump

Football isn't remotely interesting to many people.

Maia77 · 11/09/2024 20:11

I'd say Charles, Putin, Trump and princess of Wales.
