Bedding - possibly the most exciting thread ever*

*but probably not.

I want a nice throw for my super king bed. One that'll hang over the sides and look cosy, opulent even. But all the ones I can find are too narrow and look rubbish.

So hit me with your suggestions.

For reference, it needs to be AT LEAST 200cm wide.

We have this and it’s very nice https://www.thewhitecompany.com/uk/Pure-Cashmere-Throw/p/cashmere-throw?swatch=Mink

ETA we also have a SK bed and it’s works well

SpanielPaws · 11/09/2024 18:11

I've got one from the White Company too, superking size and it almost touches the floor both sides. That's with a very thick 35cm mattress too.

HansHolbein · 11/09/2024 18:12

That won’t work.. got the width and length mixed up!

StrongAutumn · 11/09/2024 19:04

I'm looking for this sort of thing too - in cream. It's a challenge trying to find something wide enough.

Yves delorme triomphe, which we have in cream is 285 x 250. Quality is also superb.

StrongAutumn · 11/09/2024 19:34

It looks really, really lovely!

They're out of stock of the larger size in the cream unfortunately and, to be honest, it's more than I'd like to pay - but thanks for the kind suggestion 😊

Had a look on QVC as per floralnomad's suggestion. Quite like the look of this:

Can I ask, do people use these for extra warmth, or are they mostly to look nice? Just curious.

Check out Foxford Woolen Mills, they have the most divine bed linen and wool throws that I have ever come across.

I have one from West Elm which is gorgeous and was around £200

Caspianberg · 12/09/2024 10:16

i have just ordered some from Zara. The vintage cotton one is £60 odd for the super king v white company version is almost £200. So I’m going to try.

I also ordered a thick super king size fleece to go between duvet and bedspread if it’s a really cold winter. Again pretty reasonably priced.

I have three super kings in the house so if they are decent I will order more, white company is just too expensive now for multiples ( and our x2 super king duvets from there had holes in 3 years which I think is a bit rubbish)

Caspianberg · 12/09/2024 10:21

We have 100% merino wool and cashmere fancy blankets if needed but they are generally too small for super king beds so I find the fall off or get scrunched up, so I mainly use them on the sofa in winter, or on singles

BlibBlabBlob · 12/09/2024 11:25

I got a couple of bedspreads recently from Next. This was one of them, 260cm by 260cm:

And they've got others in that size, too.

I've noticed a trend of photos showing them at an angle at the bottom of the bed...kind of falling off. Is that a "look"?
