Me too. Were you not around in the late 80s early 90s? Nirvana spearheaded a musical revolution. They weren’t the only bands around that when Grunge started but they were the breakthrough band that went mainstream. They influenced not only a generation but the next one following them.

Are you crazy? Nirvana were MUCH bigger than the Foos and still are. Nirvana were huge when Nevermind was released and it changed everything. They are still outselling the Foos and their back catalogue isn’t as big. Grohl joined Nirvana during the recording of Nevermind so he was basically the hired drummer (and Kurt viewed him as such too). If Kurt hadn’t offed himself I’m sure anything he released would outsell anything Dave releases (pretty sure Nirvana would have split after the European tour). The Foos are a mediocre rock band who got lucky because of Grohl’s Nirvana association.

That’s my rant over. Except Live Through This (Hole) is better than anything Nirvana or the Foos have ever released.

I get what you mean but ultimately they haven't, I'm not a Foo Fighters fan, massive Nirvana fan but like realistically Nirvana wouldn't be doing the stadiums or headlining the festivals because Kurt was too erractic/unreliable, unlike the FF!

That said I have seen under 10s wearing "Nirvana" T-shirts from Penneys (which I love, I got a lovely Ramones T-shirt last year) & not once have I seen a FF T-shirt for kids so commercially yeah maybe?

The Cobain/Stipe collaboration was something Michael cooked up to try and get Kurt out of his addiction/depression. He asked him to fly to Georgia to start working on a new project. He sent him plane tickets, even sent him a taxi to take him to the airport but Kurt didn’t turn up. Stipe has talked about it a few times.

Apparently he's never been faithful has been cheating on his wife for years with various ONS's and girlfriends he did the same to girlfriends before he married his current wife and did the same to his first wife. Just ask Louise Post. The man's an ass but happens to have a good PR team and had a bunch of good will from the public after the suicide of Kurt Cobain, the Foo Fighters are overrated anyway. Hopefully his wife takes him to the cleaners over this.

🤦‍♀️ were you actually around in the 90s, did you live through the Grunge era? How you can say a band that changed the music scene and influenced fashion is less successful than a mediocre band amazes me. Nirvana influenced so many people, so many other bands, and still do. I doubt the outpouring of grief would have been anywhere near the same had Dave Grohl committed suicide. Kurt and Krist were the talent, Dave only came along because they needed a drummer.

The Foo Fighters, rode on the success of Nirvana, and the aftermath of Kurt's suicide. They would not have been anywhere near as successful as they are if Dave Grohl hadn't been in Nirvana.
