What have you started doing that tells you Autumn is coming?

I realised today I am moving into Autumn mode. In the last week or so, I have been:
Making lentil soup for lunch
Making vegetable casseroles with beans and other pulses
Painting autumnal landscapes instead of summery scenes
Picked the apples from the tree
Closing the garden doors in the evening
Taking my waterproof hat when I go out walking
Bringing the cats in from the garden about 7.30pm
Put the heating on twice
Having a nice warm bath before bed
Wearing longer leggings so there is no gap around my ankles

Fruit crumble
fluffy dressing gown
hot chocolate
thinking about Christmas
searching for replacement boots

Hanging washing out hopefully but knowing it won;t be dry when it comes indoors.

We are still sleeping with a top sheet only but I reckon the duvet will be out this weekend

The cats have doubled in size but they insist it is "Fur not Fat"

Started tidying the garden.

Cooking more squashes and pumpkins.

I have lots of stewed apple in the freezer, neighbour told me to take as many as I could reach! I've put it into individual pots so I can take one to work daily. Might go mad and add sultanas.

Logs in the store; chimney sweep coming next week. Kindling is ready.
Electric throw is already on the bed. The second duvet is ready to put on when required.
Blankets have been brought downstairs for the living room.
I’ll be doing the winter clothes swap next week.

I still need to clean the gutters.

Made a plum and apple crumble

Folded all of my summer holiday clothes up to be stored away

Making soup,
Walking the dog with my head torch at night

Started craving dhal and gingerbread

Swapped the duvet for the heavier one.
Made a shepherds pie for tea.

Got the slightly thicker jackets out as it's been cold and wet. Windbreakers are no longer cutting it

Wearing the gilet I keep on the back of my office chair
Thinking about slow cooker recipes
Looking to get my local bonfire night tickets booked.

Closing up the chicken coop earlier as they've put themselves to bed before 8pm. Wearing a warm top over my t-shirt in the evenings.

It was so cold here a few days ago that I wore my thermal hat😡.

I also made a soup today!

And I thought briefly about wearing tights.

Probably need to assess my wardrobe and put the summer things away soon…

Sitting outside in the lovely cold air
Watching more horror films
Wearing cycling tights instead of shorts
Ordered a new rear bike light
Stocking up on fireworks
Feeling much happier

So many of these!
watching the mists over the hills in the morning
went blackberry picking and made crumble
baked flapjacks
bought new DM boots

Erm ... watching the leaves falling from the trees and turning colour

Opening and closing the window next to my desk to let the cat in or out. In summer it stays open.

Saying "why is it so fucking dark?"

Ordered a new duvet cover - autumn themed!

Made apple and blackberry crumble yesterday with fruit from the garden.
Everyone commenting on how early it's getting dark now - I mean everyone 😃
The last few days it's been too chilly to wear sandals and I've needed to wear a coat.

Fleece
Taking dog for his last walk before my evening meal rather than afterwards
And my winter cough seems to have started 😡

And I'm constantly inspecting the house for spiders .
