‘Shut up’: Liam Gallagher shrugs off criticism of Oasis ticket prices

’Fans said they queued online for hours only to find that the price of the £135 standing tickets had risen to £355.

On Friday morning, Liam posted on X: “OASIS are back your welcome and I hear there ATTITUDE STINKS good to know something’s never change.”

When fans responded by criticising the ticketing approach, including one X user who said he “didn’t expect [Oasis] to rip off the fans as much as they have done”, Gallagher replied: “SHUTUP”.

And when asked how he was feeling, the 51-year-old responded: “SMUG only kidding SMUG AS F* I told you all we were gonna get back together 1 fine day.”

Liam was also asked how his mother, Peggy, felt about him and Noel reuniting 15 years after the band split. “She’s gutted she couldn’t get a ticket,” he said. When one person questioned why he didn’t give her a free ticket, he said: “Free don’t be silly.”

Was a fan and saw them twice back in the day and thought they were pretty crap.

I would have liked to get tickets for a bit of 90s nostalgia, but 8 hours in a queue last Saturday made me consider whether I really wanted to see them. (I had the queue on my phone in the background while I went about my day)
However, Oasis are ultimately doing this for the money, it’s their business. I don’t blame them for chancing their luck, they’ve proved that people will pay whatever price they set.
Whether it’s an act or his actual personality, I think he’s earned the right to be arrogant, a large proportion of the country have paid over the odds for the privilege of seeing them live.
Morally it’s wrong, but from a business sense they’ve played a blinder.

I find the whole argument about how they’re ‘only doing it for money’ really bizarre - why do most people go to work? For money. This is their line of work and they’re doing it for the money.

I didn’t get tickets as although I like them it’s too expensive for me. I’ve seen them before and I enjoyed it then, I don’t want to pay as much now.

If you think it’s too expensive don’t go, but they don’t have a moral obligation to anyone. They want to make money. So they’re making it.

If Peggy Gallagher is as nice as we are told she is, she will be ashamed that Oasis fans were ripped off.

Before social media was a simpler time. 😂 Bands not having a platform to show disdain for fans and fans not having a platform to show disdain for bands they like.

The dynamic pricing is a bit shit but at the same time these fans wanted Oasis back together and Oasis are putting their lives into it, away from family, thrown into the spotlight again etc. So then to complain… well it’s what you wanted and everything has a price? At the same time it’s ungrateful of Liam to the fans. But it is Liam Gallagher what do you expect LOL.

The refund is not going to happen. Prob taking 100 million between them. 20 nights/100k people at 100 pounds plus is 200 million gross. Would expect them to take at least 50% plus a cut of the fees

This is Liam being Liam and I just don't know what anyone expected tbh. I paid well over the advertised price because I have loved Oasis from the very first moment I saw them in 1994 and I don't feel ripped off or mugged off and to me it's so worth it. Liam also loves a bit of outrage and especially loves to wind people up but I can see why it might look distasteful to people who don't really follow him or Oasis. I also realise that my judgement might be clouded because I was lucky enough to get tickets and as selfish as this sounds I don't really care about the dynamic pricing and him telling people to shut up lol. I have had the worst few years of my life and this might sound dramatic but right now seeing Oasis next year is keeping me going. I have to keep reminding myself not to get involved when I see people slagging him off because I'm not 14 anymore haha

Played the rock ‘n roll star in the 90’s to the paparazzi, now has an X account to do that on. He knows it’s expected, he doesn’t care, he’s having a laugh.
