Summer officially over

Two things this morning made me realise summer was officially over.

I had to turn the light on in the bathroom to have my shower.

I put tights on to wear proper shoes. I've lived in sandals since April, rain or shine.

What made you realise and when?

I put a scarf on yesterday. It’s not quite glove weather yet imo but nearly

I don’t think summer ever arrived here

It was foggy this morning.

I don't really count it as summer being over when it's due to be 22 degrees today!

The fact we consider 22 degrees to be summer is sad in itself! Wasn’t Christmas last year about 15?

I put the seat warmer on in my car yesterday morning.

It's going to be 27 here today though!

Well it is summer for this country

The thunderstorm this morning, it's cleared the horribly muggy air we had in the South East yesterday.

Usually we have thunderstorm around now (give or take a week or two) and that's summer over. Think that was this morning as the weather has definitely changed.

It never arrived here but now, oddly, it's gloriously sunny here and I don't know wtf to wear?!

I changed my slippers back to my winter ones 😫

I noticed the tree leaves starting to go brown on Saturday. That signalled it for me even though it was still quite warm to me.

I have the seat warmer on in my car every day 😂

I felt the need to put on my dressing gown when I got up this morning. I am also wearing a cotton jumper for the first time in ages today.

it's raining heavily here, but still muggy!! I'm pottering about in pants & t shirt but still too warm with all the doors & windows open.

its been coming for me for a while. I wake up very early (4:30) and love it in Summer when its light, but have been watching it getting light later & later... same in the evenings (but obviously darker earlier & earlier)

The light has changed now to that very pretty golden autumn light. Even though it's warm and sunny here today, it's an autumn coloured sunny day, not a summer one. I don't know if anyone else notices this or if it's just my imagination

No I know what you mean about the light. I've lived close to the equator - and you don't get this at all. really notice it now.

I put the heating on yesterday!

South east! There are many times I've had the bum warmer on at the same time as the air con.
I know.

Was a bit nippy here in Staffordshire last night so I put my Oodie on.

How dark it was when i got up this morning, hate it.
