Again today talking about sucking her husbands d#@k after he does the dishes. The other week nude pap photos and a few weeks back dressing with everything hanging out. Is this her PR machine making her relevant, stand out...as Swifty's grabbing all the limelight?

I completely agree! It's got to be for the views.

her come back is a flop, so the old tried and tested technique of creating shock headlines seems to be the go to.

Because she can feel herself slipping into irrelevance and sadly in the entertainment industry being shocking is the most effective way to remain relevant.

That's what sells. She wants to come back on the top and what better way to grab society's sex-mad attention than all that raunchy stuff.

Why do some women think they have to behave like that to be considered as relevant and serious musicians? Or relevant and serious in any profession? Their "advisors" are seriously disturbed.

It’s a reboot to go with the new album. She’s either taken really bad advice or she’s surrounded herself with people who won’t tell her when she’s wrong. I’m not criticising the direction she’s chosen - none of my business - I’m saying that it’s been really poorly executed.

She has also lost a dramatic amount of weight. (She was never overweight).

The need to stay relevant in the press/papers and the fact her big comeback flopped - it was absolutely awful. She has a few good songs - I mean - firework is banged out every new year eve after ALS, but those songs were so long ago….

I'm sorry for her. It must be hard to see her career crashing. I love her latest two songs - it's a shame they haven't done well.

I get the sense she's had really bad PR advice.

She looks great and really fit and toned - but she did before and imho didn't need to lose any weight. She also doesn't/shouldn't need to get her kit off to promote her new album- but that's what's driving it.

It's a sad reflection on society really.

But it's also fair to say that her "brand" (not the Russel type) has always been very youth/pop focused and that has a sell by date.

Rather than maturing her brand she's trying to reel back time. Again bad PR because some of the new music is good - but the launch of it is off putting to fans who've aged with her.

It's a bit like Madonna who never put a foot wrong until her late 40's in terms of image reinvention and her musical output.

Now, to be diplomatic, it's getting very hard to see the icon beyond the plastic surgery and social media/heavily filtered posts.

There is a pretty big backlash against her in the USA. Her last album was crap, the video for her single was just awful, and she's getting a lot of heat for working with Dr. Luke after Kesha accused him of abuse. (Her explanation was word salad.) "Girl power" is not cutting it for her. Apparently she lost hundreds of thousands of IG followers.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is riding high and everyone is talking about Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan.

Isn’t this just Katy Perry being her usual self?

I’m not saying I know lots about her but nothing about the video strikes me as unusual for her.

Didn’t like it or the song but liked some of her old songs.

Just too much of Colombia’s major export. Both of them.

Taylor is Empress and Katy is struggling with her career. Always about the publicity so that's what she is chasing. She kissed, a girl now she sucks a d£#@k, how original!

Same reason why Lady Gaga and Jewel turned to sexualised pop. It was the only path to world wide success. It's pratically mandatory. Same thing for influencers. Looks and a sexy/sexualised image is everything. Women who don't are pretty much invisible.
