Again today talking about sucking her husbands d#@k after he does the dishes. The other week nude pap photos and a few weeks back dressing with everything hanging out. Is this her PR machine making her relevant, stand out...as Swifty's grabbing all the limelight?

Desperation and growing old and not in the music scene very much anymore?
She has always been very very sexualised, and her husband OB is very exhibitionist , remember naked paddleboard, so this is hardly a surprise.

Has she been relevant since about 2010?

She’s almost 40 and feeling old and desperate for attention, fearing complete irrelevance. She went quiet for a while whilst she raised her young DD, now she’s tried to come back onto the scene and it’s a total flop. Must be tough but she has more than enough money to go away quietly, there’s no need to keep chasing the limelight with embarrassing sexual stories.

Knocking 40, desperate to be “relevant”.

It’s also a sign of the times - people who have been away for a while need to be shocking to get the online clickbait attention. The pop songs that Katy used to get will be going to younger people like Sabrina Carpenter.

Her song about lipstick lesbian, album title “one of the guys”… always had #pickme vibes. now she’s trying to be the cool girl wife.

Rita ora did the same a few years ago. Hardly wore anything for more fame 🤢

Because her music is not good enough to get the audience she wants. But many of them go through this e.g. Miley Cyrus- who does have talent & has toned it down a notch. Madonna was another one, as was Ariana Grande. I can see Sabrina Carpenter going down this route.

Don’t recall Kylie doing this. Artists like Kate Bush, Adele etc just don’t need to.

Not seen or heard about this, but Katy Perry - whilst she had half a dozen decent songs, is a really awful singer. Her live 'singing' makes my ears bleed. She is trying to stay relevant, but is just coming across and grim and desperate.

Those with the songs/talent continue. Swift, Adele, Celine Dion. You can see/hear why they are a big draw. Watched some of that Adele show in Munich and she was superb. Good songs, fabulous staging. Swift had a SHOW that appealed to a huge demographic of girls and women and she lit it up.

She is OK looking and has a decent voice and has had a few good songs (Rita Ora,) but I don't know who her fan base is. I don't know anyone who names Rita as one of their favourite artists, or who would buy any of her albums, or go and see her perform live.

Agree about Celine. She is a Goddess. Not a huge Adele fan, but I agree that she is pretty good/has had some decent songs.

I agree that it comes across as creepy.

Ive always liked her and a bit of vulgarity, like when she was drooling over the handsome young man on americas got talent. Shes a sexual being.

Very Madonna of her and I think she needs her head checked. Creepy old man vibes will all her toy boys barely dressed.

I hate that women artists feel they have to resort to getting their kit off to kick off/revive a career. I appreciate they must feel horrendous pressure, but they really are stooping very low.

I never cared much for her music, and when she had the low self-esteem to marry Russell Brand, even less.

I really do not like criticising the women who do this because I think it is often one of the few avenues offered to them to revive their carers. I might be wrong, though it seems to happen regularly - show a bit of flesh, show you're sexually "liberated" and that is the cure all for careers, futures etc. Except it isn't. It is more often tomorrow's fish and chips wrappers. Honestly, how many of us would unknowingly walk past these celebs in the street without a second glance?

It makes you stop and think why you don't see the same sort of expectations/exploitation for men, though, doesn't it?

It's an anthem in some communities as I found out recently.

One of the reasons Kate Bush stopped touring after her 1 tour was she hated the attention of the press and the whole media scrutiny. And that was 1978! The effort of being watched distracted her from making music. She chose well imo

I love Kate Bush.

There was a man on the Antiques Roadshow with a letter from her, he had written to her as a teenager and she had written back!
It was so lovely and she said ‘please do me one favour, do not believe anything that is said about me in the news, it’s all untrue’

and I thought it was fabulous that she said that. She is so right. It really stayed with me.
