TV shows like Outnumbered & Modern Family

14yo DD's favourite programme when younger was Outnumbered and she now loves Modern Family but has watched it so many times she is getting a bit bored. It's the semi-realistic family life where they face minor problems but you know it's going to work out and they'll all end up living happily ever after that makes it perfect cosy TV watching for her.
I've been trying to think of something similar and failed! She finds Friends dull and fake.
Half hour episodes and plenty of series would be a bonus! We have every streaming platform possible it seems.

The connors which is the follow up show from what used to be Roseanne without Roseanne. I only watched 1 or 2 episodes of Roseanne ever but the connors is a bit of a dysfunctional family with various issues but the family is at its core.

The middle is brilliant. Such a comfort watch show. It's on ITVX at the moment.

God i loved outnumbered!! At the time I had my own 'Ben' - I found it immensely reassuring !! Great acting all round - from annoying Angela to marvellous 8 year old diva Karen!

The Goldbergs

This would fit your bill, and is a family based drama series (American, on E4).

My family.

"My Hero" has Hugh in it from outnumbered. And also Father Dougle from another great show "Father Ted".

What about Gavin and Stacey?

Comedycook · 03/09/2024 10:43

Not going out

Here We Go - it's on the BBC iplayer, I'm not keen on most sitcoms but all of us in our house really really loved it!!

My daughter who loves many of these shows weirdly loves Death In Paradise best of all, so I put it in here to try! Brooklyn 99, Young Sheldon, Friday Night Dinner all favourites

Nottodaythankyou123 · 03/09/2024 11:33

Schitt’s Creek / New Girl / Brooklyn 99 are my go to for easy to watch, enjoyable tv

8 Simple Rules is a great shout, I rewatched it recently (there is a 3rd season it’s just not on Disney plus)

Also not based on a family but Abott Elementary is very nice gentle vibes, they face minor problems and everything works out in the end.
