I missed out and I’m seriously considering just buying tickets on a resale site. Anyone else considering this? Can they really cancel the tickets?

So if you’re a genuine seller, and chose to sell your tickets on Viagogo, they won’t be honoured? Just before COVID, I sold some Human League tickets on Viagogo, and it all worked out fine?

What’s a genuine seller? You are genuine if you are selling for face value or 20 x face value because you are SELLING……if you are selling for face value put them on twickets and all will be well.

Human League tickets are not really comparable are they

Sweetlove23 · 03/09/2024 15:42

Just thought I’d mention, I was talking to someone today who bought Viagogo tickets for Ed Sheeran and they had a que for those who had bought off the site, your Viagogo was cancelled but you had the chance to by another on the door. If they did this, like he did, it would make loads more sense and would stop the reselling of tickets at silly prices.

@Sweetlove23 thats interesting on Ed Sheeran! So when you say they had a chance to queue to buy a ticket, was it first come first served or was there enough tickets for everyone who had bought off viagogo?

@loverrr im not sure. Unfortunately this lady couldn’t afford the £150 per ticket so had to walk away but others did. They also have everyone letters on how to get a refund and evidence the ticket had been cancelled. I think ed Sheeran wanted to give fans the best possible chance of getting in.

there’s quite a few tickets coming up on Twickets now but you literally can’t get them as someone is always on them before you.

haven’t seen any on Ticketmaster yet but looking at the Taylor Swift advice, lots come up weeks before and even on the day so we will see.

Does anyone know if the resale tickets on Ticketmaster are on where you buy the original tickets or is it a different part of the website.

It doesn't look like Ticketmaster are letting people resell atm. The resell option is still blanked out on mine.

Interesting article about Dynamic Pricing here. The artists can opt in or out. TS and Ed Sheeran didn't do it. Crowded House did it by mistake and made them refund everyone.
The shocker is Bruce (blue collar man) Springsteen who really kick started the whole thing over here and is firmly in favour. Arse.

Pretty disappointed in Springsteen on this.

beguilingeyes · 03/09/2024 23:09

It's properly tone deaf from Springsteen, who must have more money than he knows what to do with already.

With TS, resell wasn't allowed until about a week before.

Sweetlove23 · 04/09/2024 17:15

@JaneIves ive been on ticket master this morning and the update at 11:37 was no tickets but limited resale may be available

Two new dates added?

Im interested to find out how the invitation only ballot will work. I did get as far as being able to buy tickets but they were the £300 plus surge pricing ones so I didn't go as far as putting them in my basket. I wonder if that will qualify me

He said he wanted what he believed he was worth. He also had just sold his catalogue for $400 million.

I expect dynamic pricing to be standard within the next 2 years and the artist will have to opt out. I would like to see all the adverts and website carry the notice that the event is subject to surge pricing. This won't happen because the artists don't want to appear bad and it would deter potential customers.

Sweetlove23 · 04/09/2024 18:41

@Moonshine86 and @DreamW3aver only just seen about new dates. I got through to the front and got kicked out so I guess I won’t qualify.

Same as me. I spent 7.5 hours in the queue so hope that's enough to prove that I'm a serious fan 😅

tennissquare · 13/09/2024 15:49

I've got a code for the ballot tomorrow - there are 3 sessions - I wondered how common this was? Ie do the number of codes given out equal the seats available? (You can only book 2 seats).

Moonshine86 · 13/09/2024 15:56

Thats great you got a code! When did you receive it? I’m now assuming I was perhaps unsuccessful in getting one. Good luck tomorrow!

tennissquare · 13/09/2024 16:00

@Moonshine86 , I got it at 1pm today and I'm in the session at 1200 tomorrow that is due to last 90 mins. Good thing I can give up another Saturday to ticketmaster!

Sweetlove23 · 13/09/2024 20:15

That’s fantastic news. I got in the ballot but not received anything yet so will see as it said until 9pm.

I dont understand why they emailed so many people saying they were successful for a ballot, made them wait a week, only for no code to arrive. Why not just send people the code today who were successful?

I was one of the people who has been excited all week that I was 'in the ballot' and went through the confirmation, only for no code to arrive today.

Seems a very odd process.

the ballot for the code, was the 2nd email……the first was just an email to say you had been successful applying to be in the ballot

its the same with Wimbledon tickets…..you apply to be in the ballot…..then a few months later you get an email if you have been sucessful
